Title: German wiki
Post by: sanjay on January 28, 2008, 03:22:23 AM
For our German-speaking friends, there appears to be another wiki!

http://www.gs-500.info/

I browsed it using Google translate (just type it into Google and click "translate this page").  It looks pretty in-depth.  Anybody used or contributed to this page before?  Jim, perhaps?

Awesome, good thing I'm half German and therfore able to read it.
You'd be surprised about the GS500 in Germany.  They're a popular starter bike, and are actually easily de-tuned over there for beginning riders, since they have restrictions on how much power you can have as a new rider.  Also, when I check out German Ebay, I see things like crash bars and luggage racks and the like that are much rarer on American Ebay.  I may pick up some things from Europe, but I'm kind of scared of shipping. :o

 Strange deja vu!!!

This is a common subject at Greek motorcycle forums. We search "your" ebay for goodies  :icon_razz:

The only problem should be the US customs taxes.

I emailed Timo (the admin) and he added the wiki.  He already had GSTwins linked.  I'm going to add theirs to our wiki, too.

yea but that was just germany...if we all band together it can happen.  we just have to remember what the germans learned from their first two mistakes

1.. Dont attack russia...winter,,summer, spring , fall ...no matter what its still to cold.
2..never let the italians fight with you...They can only hold you up.  the only thing worse then that would be the french.
3.  Dont fight the americans and british  when they band together..  (but since we will all be banding together we have nothing to fear on this third point)

Just wanted to let you know: For (most of) the conversions, you don't need Google Translator anymore ;)

FAQs are still not translated, I waste a lot of time in uni and still try to solve the wiki-issue with the sidebar (sidebar does not change language). Got a possible solution, but implementation is not that easy :(

Anyways, as you've got a very good wiki in English already, I guess there is no pressure on me

It would be nice to have the german wiki fully translated for you people. Ive been using the german a lot lately - it has a lot of good detailed info ;)
