Just wondering if anyone else experiences this:
When i fill up, i let it go all the way up to the top of the filler neck and then it settles back down and then i put more gas in until it reaches the top again and then it settles back down and then i put more gas in until it reaches the top again and then it settles back down and so on....
It seems like i could sit there and trickle fill it all day long.
Should i just fill it up to the top of the filler neck once? should i keep topping it off untill the end of time?
Is there a fix for this? (I read about some people drilling a whole in the top of the neck but couldnt find any details.)
What do you think?

Wiggle when ya fill it. Notice the filler neck is a good deal lower than the top of your tank, inset even. I just fill mine up to the beginning of the neck. Consistently I can get a solid 3.5 gallons out of it, good for 140 miles or so. Having a bigger tank would rock, but having another 6-12 pounds that sloshes up that high would suck. ;)

Yes, it WILL eventually stop taking more fuel, but I feel your pain. I fill the bike while sitting on it, and things seem to go a little faster when I shift my weight from one foot to the other. (The "wiggle" that ohgood mentioned.)
The most important thing is to be consistent. If you always just fill to the neck once, and you always get about (X) miles from a tank, you will know what to expect and you can work with it. Out here in Utah, going on a non-urban ride can mean 50+ miles between towns, so "consistency" for me is filling it until it won't take any more.
I fill it to the brim once, then leave it... this allows room for fuel expansion in hot weather
except... when I know I need to ride the bike on a long trip and every drop will count. Then I sit on the bike like Kerry does and shake it a bit as I fill it to get every last drop in.
Ease up on the nozzle trigger a bit. The flow will be less agitated and you can fill it up further without stopping. Best distance so far without reserve: 342 km/212.5 miles.
just take your time filling up. i play it cautious and fill up every 100 miles

I've made over 360km/s on a jetted 2005
My best distance-to-REServe was about 190 miles, and that was when my bike was still "young".
However, my best mileage ever was last Fall, when I went 210 miles in one day without going to REServe. I filled up at the same pump and could only fit in 3.0 gallons. :o 70 miles per gallon? Whoa!

I can believe it. I was tempted to push further, but the downhill grass track through an old farmer's field (littered with 30 cm diameter rocks) convinced me that stalling might be a bad idea.
