Title: Possible elctrical problem
Post by: mach1 on February 01, 2008, 06:00:12 PM
So Im ridong down the freeway at 80mph and all of a sudden the bikes dies so I coast over to the side of the road and notice i have no power to the bike. So I pulled down the side fairing and checked the 20a fuse BLOWN how did that happen :dunno_white:. I replaced it with the spare and the bike turned over fine. Not willing to risk it happen again I got off the freeway and turned around to go back home Now it gets better, On the way home the bike jerkes at everybump and the rpm needle will drop form 0 to the rpm I riding at this happens during everybump I hit. Am I looking at a look cable or a bigger issue.

frigin electrical can be a Buddha Loves You to find.  get it indoors and get one of those little led flash lights that bend and a dental type mirror to look into the nooks and crannies.  could be something simple like a old wire that has become exposed and is shorting out somewhere.

I would start by looking at the wires for the Tach  :thumb: Then start from the battery and move on  :thumb:
