So I went on Google Street View to show my Korean exchange student friend where i used to work in Portland. Guess what I found!

You'll be telling the grandkids, "Ya, back then we didn't have teleportation and flying cars. Here's proof !"
Wicked cool! :thumb:
I don't see the bike either, only cars and a few huge trees that block the aerial view of the street. Maybe give us a better idea of where the bike is on Satellite view?
Its not on satellite view... its Street view :thumb:
Very cool... I started reading how google makes the Street view, its done by these guys http://www.immersivemedia.com/
That's pretty wild! :o
Very nice! Also compliments on your yous spiffy green shopping cart. Is that an occupational equipment?

the link is to streetview. if not, click on the streetview button and maneuver one click south of Hawthorne on 34th street. my bike is on the west side of the street. im surprised it doesnt show me smoking a cigarette by the door across the street.
if the window doesn't pan upwards to the graphic, click up on the directional icon and it should move to show the streetview window.
Hey Mach1, I just talked to foobar and he said he'd been riding with you, you should pm your # if you want to ride sometime. Its getting warm.
wow a whole new way of getting free pics of your bike
Found it! I found Waldo! Congratulations, I'm now endlessly distracted during class.

Poland ... woweee ... look at those tiny commie houses all boxed together like little matchboxes. Yea, communist architecture, its so great :thumb: .
Cool.
Srinath.
reminds me of the michael jackson son " i always feel like...somebodys watchin meeeee and i got no privacy"
cool. I ride so much mine should show up on the atlanta one
absolutely unbelievable the saturation they got with Portland. The blocks are like a stone's throw long and they drove around pretty much every single frickin block in the metro area. very awesome. must have been a lot of work.
I am still waiting for the driveable/interactable/live virtual version of each city.
You poor guy. Looking at that map that does not look like a town that has many great motorcycle roads :)
Oh wait a min there dude, much as I hate Poland Orgy-eon, it does have some very nice and scenic rides both up/down the coast as well as east west on the banks of the river and the mountain behind it ... Imagine riding down the road, neck craned left (if heading east) for 100 miles, ... yuo, and there is that insanely tall waterfall on the road too. Whatever its called.
You want to hear my favorite gripe about Poland ... the commies that ruled there got many many awards for "smart growth" ... essentially they prevented anyone form getting any building permits past one arbitrary road over there ... so like, all buildings were crapola match boxes stacked 300 to a square inch and just on the other side of this road, miles and miles of nothing ... its not even greenery, its crapola desertery ...
Many other stupid sheite like that.
Cool.
Srinath.
actually drstrange it has a lot of great rides. and not far from all-time epic ones.

Portland is livable because starting in the 70s they put a shitload of time and effort into it. Smart growth is better than idiot shaZam! like how LA or Detroit was built. Portland is sustainable friendly, builds new neighborhoods with affordable housing, mixed use development, and green spaces/parks. You can ride your bike, walk, skate, bus or train anywhere. It attracts young people of alt/DIY mentality from all over the country. And urban planners visit. No its not perfect, and I even left for other reasons, but as far as livability and urban planning, Portland has done ok. Who's doing the bitching anyway? some antisocial, scared republican landowner who only gives a f%$k about money. and the boundary is spreading anyway. Portland is cool, well designed. So what if it's granola... u dont have to live there.
