Title: Fix my carbs, name your price. Carbs are worthless POS's. I'll mail out tomorrow
Post by: ohgood on February 10, 2008, 03:11:14 PM
I've spent a total of about two weeks trying to clean, rejet, adjust, re-adjust, etc since I've owned my fantastic GS. I want to pay someone who knows WTF is up with these POS carbs, and never touch them again.

I've been through these damned things so many times, and never achieved a good mix. There's always a rich or lean spot, always a problem with idle or top end, always something.

This is what I want them setup for:

V&H full, K&N lunchbox.

I've loved the bike, but the fueling is just complete shaZam!.

Hey ohgood, it's just a little test, let it go for now, there are guys here who can fix the dang things and you can get back on good terms with your ride. Motos are ALWAYS a source of frustration (I was gonna say unless you own a Honda, but yeah, them too!) It's some kind of bargain with the devil for the insane amount of joy we get from them. You need that ride to keep the cobwebs cleared out, that's what it's all about.

So take some deep breaths, it's not personal or permanent. You have a sweet little bike, she's hobbled by her carbs right now but she just needs the right tweak, and this is the forum to find it. It's not because she doesn't love you.   ;)

Dude, you should really replace the slides and needles.  From your other post it seems like you've got a mix of dynojet, stock, and mikuni parts.  None of that is ever going to work right.

I believe I have a spare set of untouched slides and stock needles that I bought from srinath in my box-o-gs....  if you're interested.

Let me know.
