we could have a where's waldo...er FrankieG update thread.... as long as he can ride....i'd help with gas for the bike
haha you guys, yes its true i am planning a trip from may to mid sept to meet as many members of gstwins that i can. some already know i am coming it is just a matter of setting dates and times. i can say that i will begin my trip in may starting off with a stop at my old employer at Suzuki in limerick Maine. there i am going to get the bike ready for the long haul that is ahead. the clip ons will go and i will put my stock bars back on. i also see saddle bags in my future(yuk). although i am in Canada right now my bike is licenced and insured in Maine, my home state, so that has to be my first stop. plus my ma lives there. so i will be travelling light and short. i really don't want to ride more than 2-3 hundred miles a day. i don't think i have the endurance in me for anything more than that. it looks as though i will be going right down the east coast of the USA like the I-95. Maine, Mass, NY, VA, GA, FL deals gap and a few other places/events that i can not recall right now are on the itinerary in my head. once i get more definite time dates and places i will start a thread and post them.
my goal is to have one great riding season, meet as many of the wonderful people on this board and then once home post my journal and all the pics and video i have gathered in my trip.
I probably have some tars if your's wear thin on the trip
thanks, i have about 300 miles on the factor bits that came with the bike.
i just came back from the corner store and looked at the bike, there is 859 miles on her so it should be fine for a good long summer trip :thumb:
where are you living now frankie???
when you get toward teh gap, lemme nkow, ill pm you my # and well get together :thumb:
Although you didn't list PA.. If you come through here you have a place to stay with me for a day or two :thumb: As well as some free beer and food  Depending on when you pass though, I may tag along for a day or so also :thumb:
i am in fredericton new brunswick canada. kerry figures my trip will be 1700 km one way :thumb:

Why not turn it into a sponsored ride and try and raise some folding-green for the good causes in the world?? I will send you a few $ if you do.
Thats a good idea Sledge , id also throw a couple of bucks ur way via the old Paypal , if not , money to keep going

How's this coming?? I'm down for some riding to keep ya company for a while.
Let me know when he's coming through oklahoma would you please. That way I can run his ass over in my truck O0
Ok just kidding frankie if your heading through N.E. Oklahoma around tulsa let us know you can have a place to crash a garage to park the bike in tools to pull maintenece if you need to do anything etc. and if I have some free time I'd keep you company on the ride out from our place for your next leg of the trip.
So here is my offer room and board for you and the bike and wouldn't mind helping the trans continental fuel fund by contributing a few tanks of gas.
thank you all so much, just the idea of this trip has lifted my spirits very much. i really have no idea what route i am going to take there than it being a east coast thing. i have to make sure i have all my meds set up for the trip and have a list of doctors and hospitals that will take veterans affairs insurance without paying cash up front. this is very important because my meds alone are 3000 a month and there is no way i can pay even 10-% of this up front and then wait the 3 months or so for the refund come my way. thank god there are no co-payments for veterans affairs medical pension plans so i will be fine if i set this up properly. again my main goal is to meet as many gs-twins members that i can. it is the only reason i am going, that and the fact it gives me something to look forward to that is positive and to keep my mind off all this health crap. again thanks you guys you are all so great, it has been a very inspiring experience for me.
And after your east-coast trip, you can start planning your west-coast trip! ;)
ya i'll be lucky to pull off this east coast trip. i do want to get to visit kerry but i am already probably biting off more i can chew with this first trip anyhow. i did not realize how many miles it was until kerry filled me in. 1700 miles one way from Maine to Florida...good thing i only have 849 miles on my gsf
Planning is 9/10ths the fun.... :icon_mrgreen:
