Title: new GS500 owner, sorta ; )
Post by: Meph on February 13, 2008, 11:05:57 AM
I have been posting for a week or so trying to get my bike working and with the help of you guys finally got it done.

Anywayz, i hail from north alabama and go to college around here, just recently bought a 2005 gs500f and really like it, I've always been a street bike fan which is why i went for the F model, I didn't want to be a typical squid who buys a super sport bike to start with so i decided to buy something a little more beginner friendly and went with the GS,  couldn't be happier with how forgiving it has been with my mistakes.  Just wanted to introduce myself and post a pic or two of my baby.

I can almost see the smoke coming out of your ears in that last picture.  You must have been thinking hard about something!

      "How ... can ... I ... get ... my ... folks ... to ... send ... more ... money???"

Just kidding!

Enjoy the GS.  Don't forget to take her to the hills once in a while.  She'll like that.  :thumb:

How much the lights set you back. I saw a set on ebay for 14.95 plus like 10 shipping and was wondering if they were one and the same. I have an '04 blue "F" and wouldn't trade my "Flik" for the world. He's very forgiving and likes a girl on his back! My boy friend said that too but they lie sometimes  ;)

check with your state or municipality because sometimes there is a law agains red or more likely blue lights.  the whole silly may be confused with an emergency vehicle thing.  i had blue tire blinkers on my bike and got warned.  how silly is that? oh well thats maine

yea, blue lights are not legal here, that's why i dont use them often, occasionally on back roads and around parking lots when parked, thats all.

and thanks for the support guys, i like the community here =)

Oh yeah,

the lights are not street legal in Florida. Honestly, very little lighting seems to be. I think maybe green, purple, or orange.  But, I like going to Old Town on Thursday nights with the Christian Motorcycle Association and notice the guys migrate toward the lights. So, yeah they would be show purposes only. I just like how they look!
