Title: Motorcycle Carbs Website
Post by: BarePaw on February 15, 2008, 07:59:59 AM
Anybody ever order from motorcyclecarbs.com? (The website the wiki refers you to). I placed an order 4 days ago and it still says "not shipped". I tried calling them today and it just kept ringing, no answer or voicemail. I'm  kind of worried since they have my credit card info now. Chaparral Motorsports doesn't have the right jets. Is there anywhere else I can order from online?

Looks like bikebandit has the right pilots (N151.067), but I'm not sure about the mains (N100.604). Is that just an old part number? If so, which ones do I get? Looks like they have "large round", "small round", and just "round". I want to go up to 150 with the mains and 40 with the pilots.

I ordered my 150 mains from sudco.com. I'm still waiting on the 40s, but since the stockers were 40's, it's no big deal. They only ship 4 at a time, so you'll have extras:

This is what I bought for my gs500 with a V&H and K&N from http://www.sudco.com/mikunijets.html

pilot: ORDER NUMBER:  004-609   #40 size     which is under N151.067
main: ORDER NUMBER: 004-200    #150 size      which is under N100.604

washers: 1
turns: 3

Small round or large round mains do not matter. On some carbs there may be a clearance issue in their fit but that is not the case with the GS carbs.

I ordered the jets I used for rejetting my GS from motorcyclecarbs.com.  Unfortunately, I have VERY dissapointed with their service.  Read their legal disclaimer, it says that parts will be shipped after 7 business days, took them 2 weeks to get my parts out!  I called them to see what was going on after 9 days, the guy I talked to gave me every excuse in the book (out of stock, didn't place the order, shipping guy isn't here..etc) in one sentence, which i found to be amazing.  When I threatened to cancel my order, magically all of the jets I wanted appeared and were going to go out on Monday.  After not receiving them on Friday of that week, I called them again to find out where the jets were.  Turns out they shipped them to my parents house (billing address) instead of my shipping address.  Again, lack of information.

If I could do it all over again, I would have bought from just about any other parts place, NOT motorcyclecarbs.com.  They gave me the impression they just don't care about customers and will take their sweet time getting you the parts they want.

This is just my opinion, I'd hope that other people have had different experiences.

The Srinath, carries all of these jets in stock.
For all your GS jet needs, the srinath is the only name you need to know ...  :thumb:
Cool.
Srinath.

I also ordered from crap.com and haven't rec'd my jets yet.  I emailed him and he replyed "you want to wait 15-30 days for me to get the Mikuni ones, or I can send you one mikuni with one aftermarket in 7 days."  Not sure how that works but I will definetly order from someplace else next time.

I finally got ahold of him via email and he told me the same thing. I told him to cancel the order and I hit up the local dealer. He had the right ones and charged me less.

Oh great!  I just ordered mains and pilots from them last night and then I see this.  I was hoping to have jets in the next 1-2 weeks for when my wife will be out of town for a week and I have time to work on the bike, maybe not now.

Someone should update the wiki.  If this is the service that they provide why are advertising for them?

I ordered my jets from my local bike shop for about $2 each and picked them up there the next day.

I think we should take them off the wiki, stop the advertising.

I think anyone can modify/edit the Wiki. If their service is in dispute, go adhead and add a note of warning to the Wiki entry (this is probably more useful to a potential buyer than just removing the reference).

I used this place last year when I changed the jetting on my bike.

http://www.carbparts.com/ (http://www.carbparts.com/)

Not sure how they are to deal with on mail order since they are local to me, but the jets that weren't in stock only took 2 days to arrive.

I just cancelled my order with this place!  I ordered on the 15th and the order still shows not shipped!  Of course the payment was made on the 15th.  The gentleman asked why I was cancelling my order and I just replied with it was placed on the 15th.  He didn't seem to be too surprised. :icon_rolleyes:

I went and picked up jets from my local dealer.  They had the mains in stock but had to order the pilots.  They quoted me about 3-4 business days, we will see.  I have not been overly impressed with them either.

you reminded me about this ^^^ post. so, they still haven't shipped any 40's to me. it's been over a month. guess i'll cancel my order from sudco, and not recommend them in the future. :)
