Bikes have been hibernating for 6 months. Yes, the trickle charger is on. I am going to change the oil and filter before I bring them back to life. Anything else I should look at? Chains are clean and lubed. Tank and fenders are polished. All the lights work. Tire pressure has been checked.
i can not wait

yes.
squirrels. they hide crap everywehre, and eat wire.
+1 on what ohgood said. A squirrel had a nice feast and subsequently defecated on/in my air filter last year.

Other than that check the tightness of fasteners, condition of all major parts, check tires for cracks, check fluid levels (brake, oil, blinker) ... Then wash it, wax it and enjoy another season :)
Can't wait!!!
Cheers,
J

Haha! I had found mice droppings in mine one spring.
thanks for all the replies. No varmits to worry about, even mice. We have no food or pet food in the garage to attract rodents. Lots of bikes out today in vancouver. :thumb:
spring ....whats that???

Canada or USA? Do you ride a GS?
What sort of monster squirrels are you lot breeding over there?!
As my car is in the garage I was forced to take the bike, despite thoroughly sub-zero temperatures. The bike had a fit of backfire and a heavy reluctance to start, but once it (she?) got going we were okay, freezing flesh aside.
I've been counting the days ever since I stored it
What is this "winter" you speak of....? :icon_lol:
:dunno_white: I think 'winter' is when it gets down into the 50's-60's and you wear a long sleeve T shirt :dunno_white:

Don't know about renting but you can buy a one bedroom apartment in vancouver for $250,000. LOL
way too expensive out there :o
 Winter is starting to set in here.
I have already wore my winter gloves twice whilst riding at night :icon_confused:
Stocked up on oil and oil filters this weekend. Getting eager to ride... We're starting to get consistently warmer weather here in NS, should be riding by end of the month, I figure.
Dunno about the rest of you... but waiting through each winter becomes progressively harder year after year ... one of these days I'll cave in and take the GS with me down south :)
Cheers,
J
*ahem* 77 degrees out and clear blue skies

not making friends in the colder climates .....lol
hey ajaxgs
it sucks... there gonna be another 10cm for you and 15cm of snow for me!!!
dunno about you, but I'm prepping my bike for april 1st..... no fools!!!!
don't care if it's cold, I just need clean roads! :icon_mrgreen:
waiho, +1... as soon as the ice is gone for good, I don't care if it's 30 degrees, I'm back out there. Supposed to snow all week, though, here in Illinois.
been riding quite a few times this winter. When its not too rainy, I'll come on down to work, but I atleast fill my gas to the top and fire them up a couple times a week to keep gas cycling through them

just waiting to get my front fender back from the paint shop .......date with gravity last fall ...and she won!! other than that im ready to go ,just clean up a bit and gas andgo!
I was riding for a couple of minutes today. WOW. I almost forgot how nice it is.... It's been 3 months since I have ridden my bike and it indeed feels wonderful. It was very short ride - I wasn't even planning to ride - I just wanted to check the condition of my bike, since I had a day of school today. So after I changed the plugs (to Iridium) checked the tire pressure, oil level, brakes, lights, tires condition and chain lubrication...I just couldn't resist and I went for a very short ride to my fathers shop, mostly to pump the tires. On my way back I even got wave from gixxer rider 8) it was dark so he probably thought I was on a gixxer also
Man, that felt really good.
I'm really looking forward to spring.
cheers
