Title: tail and lower fairing identification
Post by: GSIL on February 19, 2008, 07:19:41 AM
Hello everyone,

Do you recognize these parts?  (picture here: http://www.revistasupermoto.com.br/images/galeria/ed20/gs500/images/sm21_gs500_3.jpg)
unlike the other alternative tail/seat setups, this looks firm and neat :)

Thanks.

servus,

tail must be from yamaha r1 , model 02-04.

my opinion, its too long for the gs.

Yeah, looks like a Yamaha tail. It looks like the subframe was heavilly modded though. I don't think the clubman bars fit well with that seat. Should go with clip-ons. I'm also not a fan of the carbon fiber stickers. Don't get me wrong though, it's a sweet GS. I particularly like the chin spoiler and the stainless headers tucked in behind it. I'm still looking for stainless headers. They are so pricey

looks to me like the subframe just has that mesh cover riveted to it so I'm not sure how much subframe modding there actually is.  There's got to be something, but not sure to what extent.

swingarm arm has to be modified somehow to accomodate the exhaust pipe. there is just no room on the stock setup to run piping thru there.

I've tried.
