Title: Sporty tires for old-school 16" and 19" wheels?
Post by: makenzie71 on February 24, 2008, 09:29:59 PM
I want something sticky but I want to keep the stock wheels...unless I find some spokies that'll fit.  My riding is really more tourish than supersport but I like go out and scrub the sidewalls on occasion.  I want something that'll hold up to it if needed.  Right now I'm running dunlop 401's...they were on the bike when I found it.  I've liked them but they're a little on the hard side.  Suggestions?  What do those cafe-nated Norton and BSA owners run?

Current wheels are 16X2.50 in the back and 19X2.15 in the front.

I also have the option of 19X1.85 and 18X2.15, but I'd really like to avoid using them unless there's just something crazy cool out there for them.

I checked out AM41 and AM42 tires which "look" aggressive but I really don't know anything about them.  They're a popular HD replacement but I have a hard time finding out from HD owners how they handle.
