Hey everyone,
I have been reading about people cleaning their carbs with carb cleaner, but are there any brands that people have used and are happy with? I would rather buy something someone has used before and had good results than just go to autozone and pick up any carb cleaner... Thanks!

I use suzuki brand and it is WAY better than most other "store brands" or Gumout
At work we use

and

I found that the PJ is awesome too and the cool thing about it is... its not harmful to rubber, vinyl or neoprene :thumb:
I use the Suzuki stuff too! :thumb:
We use this Citrus scented stuff too :)

I use it mostly to clean my shoes :icon_mrgreen: It makes em look like new and they smell great!
Are there any carb cleaners that can be put into the gas tank? I just want to see if this makes things better. What do I need to look out for like in terms of harming anything on the way to the carbs?

I haven't tried it, but I've heard SeaFoam is a great product. It's a gas additive.

I use Seafoam in my Jeep quite a bit. Its a good product. You can add it to the engine oil and run it for a little while before an oil change, through a vacuum line, or in the gas tank.

How much should I add to the tank? I am planning on doing an oil change this weekend as well as do this sea foam. Any suggestions? And should I just let it sit for 10 min, or should I just run it for a while?
Thanks!

There are instructions on the can for adding it to the tank, about 1 ounce per gallon. I use it a couple of times a year.

I have used it in a more concentrated form (1/2 Seafoam 1/2 gas) to clean carbs without having to tear the carbs down. The procedure works well if the low speed circuits are partially blocked. If the the passages are completely blocked, there's no alternative to disassembly. You drain the carbs, then add the concentrated mixture to the carbs through the fuel line. Turn the kill switch to off, and run the starter for 5 - 10 seconds to suck the cleaner/gas mixture up into the jets. Let it sit for 30 - 60 minutes, then start the engine and run it for 5 minutes or so. DO THIS OUTSIDE; THE CONCENTRATED MIXTURE SMOKES LIKE HE!!, AND STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN. Repeat this if necessary. I did it three times to an old Wing that had gotten too little use to keep the carbs clean. And even if you end up taking the carbs apart, the worst of the gunk will be cleaned off, making the rest of the job a little easier.
I use Zep parts cleaner.Comes in a can that looks like a paint can.It has a basket that comes inside of it.I put my carbs in there and seal the lid for the night. When I check them the next afternoon they look like new.It is also reusable. When I was building aircooled VW engines.I had a bucket of it for 2 years before it became to contaminated to keep using. It's good for other parts as well. It's not limited to carbs.I'm out of it now but if I find a pic I'll post it.
