Title: Carb Rebuild kit
Post by: Ski1215 on February 27, 2008, 06:31:13 PM
I'm cleaning and rebuilding my carb on my 89 500 and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for a rebuild kit. I checked E-bay but only found entire carb's. I also looked on the GSwiki and couldn't seem to find them. Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but its getting close to spring!

You need a rebuild kit if and only if your float bowl gasket is leaking.
Then too you only need 1 if 1 is all that leaks. Its a waste of $$ otherwise. Besides the srinath makes fun of people who rebuild sheite by just putting O rings in it.
Cool.
Srinath.

Oh no ... the stealer's mole is underselling the srinath ...  :o ...
K screw that, I have them, I may actually have never sold a pair of those nor installed it in any carb I worked on .. anyway, that $7 is a steal ...  I'll say I'll sell it for $5 and then take 3 months to get off my ass and find them ... so ... yea buy it from scott_pa ... even though he may actually be the devil himself ... I mean, how bad can he be ...  O0
Cool.

I just broke into the carbs. The springs and diaphrams are fine, but one of my needles is worn and bent slightly. When I bought my bike the PO give me the carbs and said that the springs and diaphrams were bad in one of the carbs.  :dunno_white:  Srinath I have the jet kit you put together for me.   :kiss3:  I was lazy last year and never did it to the carbs on my bike.  So there going into the spare carbs I'm working on.  :thumb: They'll be going on when I redo my exhaust.  ;)

hey everyone..

i am looking for a carb rebuild kit, mainly for the jet needle as both of mine got soaked in spary on carb cleaner and its not letting enough gas in the float bowls....

all the links from above are dead, can  someone point me to a carb rebuild kit thats available that's worked well for them?   I've seen this one:

https://www.partsnmore.com/motorcycle-carb-rebuild-kits.php?make=suzuki&category=carb_kits

but the ebay one is dead.  Thanks in advance!

just to double check, we're talking about the needle with the rubber (viton) tip and the plunger on the bottom right?  too many things on a carb with the term needle!

the needle part, the one on the bottom, of #21 on this pic:
