Title: Maintenance costs, SKYROCKETED in South Texas. . . . . .
Post by: ejudasf on February 29, 2008, 07:43:49 AM
Hey everybody!

I recently ordered the OEM tires from AMT.  You guys were right.  PRetty good prices.

I was also thinking of getting a slightly bigger tire, but couldn't make up my mind.

Anyway!, I called my local Suzuki dealer to inquire about the labor costs on changing tires and getting the front fork seals replaced.. .. ..$120.00 for tire change, and $210.00 for the seal replacement.

I guess I'm gonna be burning some elbow grease on both projects after all.

I gotta figure out how to balance a tire using my computer <LOL>

Laterz

ed  <sigh>

Were you sure to laugh at them hysterically?

Let's see...  I can change a tire in about 30 minutes, including beer run and test ride.  That means unless the dealer is a real slacker he ought to be making at least $240 an hour.

--- per 'tech' per hour, you better believe if the stealership has to actually involve the ONE mechanic that knows his stuff the price soars. ;)

That's ridiculous! It cost me $12 at Iron Pony. I just had to remove the wheel and bring it in, no big deal.
