I'm leaving the bar last night and I'm at a light about 1/4 of a mile before a round-a-bout and a 350z pulls up and starts revving. At this point, I note that the car sounds freakin nice as it's bouncing off the rev limiter. Light changes and I oblige by screaming to 60, then I shut it down and cruise on at 55. He continues and flies past at what I would guess to be near 100. I'm taking the first exit on the round-a-bout and it's protected so I just go on my way. He loses control trying to scrub speed when he sees the round-a-bout and almost hits a cop......... I stopped at a gas station so I could get a peek at what would happen next. Another blue light shows up, then a tow truck. I can only assume he was drunk, but I wouldn't put it past the SO here to impound a car for the speeds he was doing.
i'll vote with a write-in for 'drunk'. sat at winghouse for a while last night, must have been 30 guys stumble out, hop into 4x4 crew cabs, creep out of the lot, then stomp it to I-4.
^ part of the reason i very rarely ride/drive anywhere at night.
The VQ35DE is, by far, the sexiest motor I have ever heard in stock form. No contest.
The 350Z sounds sexy? Man... I think it sounds like a hoover choking on shag rug.
You just haven't had the pleasure of driving a Detroit Diesel. :icon_mrgreen:

i wish i could afford a ferrari
There's an F430 spyder in town that I drool over a lot, then I remember I'm faster :icon_twisted:
I prefer a DD 8V92 both super charged and turbo charged in either a HEMTT or a PLS.

Anyone know the difference between a ferrari and a porcupine?
With a porcupine the pricks on the outside.

i don't understand what he did wrong, other than he has a ferrari and i don't ;)
agreed, a 350z / g35 has one of the nicest stock exhaust notes. they sound nice idling, winding up, or just plain being thrashed. :)
Maybe I'm just weird, but I think the ferrari sounds like an anemic sports car at idle and winding out for the most part. Good old american muscle with a gear driven 383 and blower sounds like an animal in person. Blows all these out of the water.
Personally, I prefer the sound of a good, refined Ferrari over a Detroit musclecar any day. Those motors always sound like they're gargling, or about to break , IMO.
I guess it's a matter of preference. :dunno_white:
Every one has heard a muscle car up close. It's nothing special, don't get me wrong I'd love to have an old hemicuda. Until you're sitting at a stop light behind a brand new F430 spyder you can't truly appreciate it's sound. The noise could have lulled me to sleep. Same goes for all the other high end exotics, though the Porsche GT2 has a little deeper growl than most (I heard it behind me on the highway with my engine at 9k rpms)
Yea the sound of a Ferrari really is just something to behold. I followed one through a local village a while back, just amazing, specially when he nailed it out the other side so i did too just so i could stay behind and listen to it scream! The sound is so refined, the same as going to a super posh restaurant, you might only have spag boll but it always has that bit extra.
the wife and i stopped at a Lambo dealership out by marysville, oh. couldn't afford any of the cars there but it was nice to walk around and drool. :icon_mrgreen:
You want some nice sounds, listen to this with some decent speakers plugged in.

Oy I was behind a new Maserati GranTurismo S yesterday, that thing was sweet..........overall slow as hell though factory claims 4.7 0-60 so I'd guess an average driver is running around 5
