Are there any drawbacks to doing a rear wheel swap on the GS? Does the "flickabliity" decrease? Will performance go down since the wheel is larger therefore heavier? I can't really see any, but before I do one; I just wanted to see if there were any drawbacks to weigh the pros and cons before adventuring on this endeavor.

This is Turd's how-to on the katana rear wheel swap. If you scroll down to the replies he comments on the improved handling. I can only assume it would be the same with a bandit wheel. Is the 600 4.5in?
Yeah I'm almost positive that the bandit rear is 4.5"
I just did the katana rear wheel swap, haven't gotten a chance to test ride yet. maybe this weekend, the high is supposed to be like 28, but no snow!
The Bandit600 wheel is 4.5.I've had no performance issues, but I did performance mods, and stepped up to sport tires from cruisers. Please read the link posted above. It describes how to deal with the rotor not going into the caliper far enough. The B6 rotor is smaller and the rotor bolt pattern is different from the GS.My way of dealing with it is to press an aluminum slug into the axle hole and drill the hole offset so the caliper sets lower on the rotor.Just becareful and don't drill to close to the edge of the caliper bracket. The castings vary greatly because Suzuki didn't have the best tolerances.
yeah biggest draw back...... ya get to buy race take-off's off of the SV guys..... gud sticky tars
