Just dropping by to say goodbye to the GStwin forum, I enjoyed my brief stay here. I bought the GS500 last year to learn how to ride and it served its purpose very well. I traded it in for an 02 SV650S last weekend and I love this bike! Here is a pic of the SV, and the GS500 that it replaced:

AH!... where'd your old GS go? I want that bike, it matches my car!
u should get the fairing kit , because it isnt nice as it is . lovely colour . but it looks like half a naked , half a faired
Otherwise good job! :thumb:
so, that's the sv that's called a 'curvey' right ? pretty bike, must be a joy to ride !
Nice looking bike, congrats. :thumb: I'd take off that fairing if it were mine, got any mods planned?
I like it, looks great. Congrats on your new bike! :thumb:
Congrats, nice one. The SV 650 is a great and very nimble bike, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 650 Bandit. There is no reason to say goodbye to this forum though, lots of us who qualify as ex-GS owners.
And some of us who have never ownejavascript:void(0);
Smileyd a gs500! yet miraculously have expert knowledge in some performance mod areas..maybe...hrm. moving on.
Im just here for the ride :thumb:
very nice ride! hope you'll enjoy it.
Is that flushmount front blinker on the SV650S stock?
Goodbye MIKEGS500, hello ASS-V650S-HOLE!
Oh yea ... could not resist. And now to keep anyone else from calling me a A-hole in return, I am locking this thread and banning you. :2guns:
Cool.
Srinath.
OK I'll try to reply to everything, sorry if I miss somebody. I traded my GS500 in at Performance cycle in Loxley, AL... so if you really want it give them a ring. The "S" model (Curvy) has the fairings shown and several other upgrades such as a better gauge cluster, suspension, different gearing, etc. than the standard SV650. I'm fond of the half naked look, it has just the right amount of fairings and changing oil will be a cinch! The flushmount turn signals are not stock, that was the one mod on the bike when I bought it. Lastly, I'm not sure why Srinath doesn't like the SV650, but I do know he likes saying "Cool. Srinath."
haha now you're screwed...you'll always own a twin.
On the flushmounts again, they look like they would be more visible than others I've seen.
Can you give us a report on how visible they are from the front?

they are quite visible from all angles, more so than the completely flush led type kits I've seen.
I know this is clutching at straws, but do you have any idea who makes them and/or where you can get them?
one of the better flush mounts for visibility I have seen.
These are lockhart phillips, they aren't flush mounts exactly, these are what I used to call mouse lights, and they been around since the early 90's. My Kat - bought in 94 had them, as did my first GS a 89 bought in 95, and they were pretty aged by then ...
Cool.
Srinath.
are they DOT legal?
