Title: SV650 Suspension?
Post by: Yev on March 06, 2008, 08:36:30 AM
Would a 2000 SV650 rear shock fit on a '07 GS and would it be an upgrade or not? Just wondering because I've seen the Kat rear upgrade but no SV..

The wiki has some info on an SV650 shock installation:

It looks like the SV650 shock requires some modification for use on a GS500; this would explain why this is not as popular as the Katana shock replacement  :)

:thumb: The Sv shock would be an up grade. The lower mount needs to be cut down,a new bolt hole needs to be drilled and the shock needs to be ground down inside the mounting fork.I think it's a little excessive unless you've upgraded the front end to Katana or better.
