Title: Bandit 600 rear rotor help
Post by: supersporthc on March 06, 2008, 01:22:44 PM
I just bought a bandit 600 rear wheel to swap onto my GS but it didn't come with a rear rotor.  Now I'm stuck looking for one and they will cost me almost as much as the wheel itself.  There has to be cheaper options.  There are lots of used GSXR rotors on ebay and stuff.  Basically I'm just wondering what rear rotor from a different suzuki bike will fit my rim.  Ebay is not much help there, neither is my local suzuki dealer.  If any body knows, let me know please.  Thanks.

I don't know if there are forums out there for bandit owners, but that would be a good place to look if there are.  Probably get one cheap from a member. As far as other bikes' rotors go, someone else will have to chime in on that.

GS and Katana have the same wheel until the late 90's when they switched to the GSXR style streight spoke wheel. The best place to find a rotor is Ebay.Their are certain years of GSXR rotors that will work. Some are so small that they won't fit others are bigger and only fit with the GS caliper hanger. What year B6 wheel do you have, better yet is it streight spoke or swept spoke like the GS wheel?

my wheel is a '97 swept spoke wheel.  Looks exactly like the gs wheels just wider.

That's what mine is and the stock B6 rotor only goes 1/4 the way into the GS caliper using the GS caliper bracket.I tried pressing a slug into the GS caliper bracket's axle hole and redrilling the hole off set to allow the caliper to sit down on the rotor more. When I test rode it,a car pulled out in front of me and the bracket broke. So now I'm thinking about using the bandit600 caliper and bracket.I'll have to weld tabs to the bottom of the swing arm for the caliper link bar. This link will explain every thing. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=27757.0

go to an aftermarket rotor site..... example EBC
look up GS500 for  rear rotor diameter
then look up GSXR and get the one with the same diam or close(smaller)

all  suzukis with the 5 bolt diam from ....84-present have the same bolt circle diam....99.9 %  positive
