Thought I'd pass this along.Complete front end $75. Complete brake system for sale in another auction for something like $25.

I have been to that guy's place and bought Vulcan 750 stuff off him. He's an all right dude. He parts out tons of bikes, sometimes even good running ones.
Cool.

Do you know if this is a direct replacement for a 2004 GS?

What kind of mods are we talking about?
See FAQ section
Since the 04 GS stem is pressed in and if the Kat stem is pressed in, the swap is much easier. If welded, the Kat stem can still removed but some grinding/milling is required. My 97 is done this way.

The FAQ seems complicated. Can't I just use this katana front end from ebay on my GS with my existing rotors and not use the katana rotors? I actually just need new forks because mine got bent pretty bad.
Nope Kat FE needs Kat rotors and kat disks, they are smaller diameter, so a Kat FE will not fit the GS disk and GS caliper, its lugs are lower down, closer to axle.
You will also lose some braking performance if you dont fit the 2 rotors too. How much ??? no clue.
You need all of it. Direct fit of everything right down to the dash - I have one set, I would like $400+shipping and some of your stock parts back. Its all been ground, milled, welded, machined and fitted up. Steering neck - ignition lock, dash, steering stops, etc etc etc all work without any spacers or washers or BS. It also has brand new bearings in the neck. It looks like it came from the factory, and not just as it stands on the road assembled. It looks like a factory job as you start taking it apart too. Direct fit, a regular Kat is not, mine is. right down to the headlight ears and dash. There is a 100 things I did on them. I will in fact send you the pics of it with it on the bike, then take it apart and send it to you.
Cool.

srinath, thanks for the offer. But because it's a fairly cheap bike, I don't want to spend too much on it. You have GS forks? :p
Nope. if you want to mod stuff yourself, Kat forks will be cheaper than GS forks really. Much more available too, really.
Kat's die from transmission trouble, they die from Idiots thinking they are real sport bikes and tyring to do what a GSXR 1000 will do cos they look similar ... and they die from being dumped on the side, the plastic in retail is worth more than the bike on the street. And that is in addition to reasons that afflict all bikes ... people let it sit, electrical glitches ...
Cool.
Srinath.
srinath, what is included in your forks for $400? Can you post a picture please?
Send me your email address. All you need for conversion is included. I just want the stock stuff to fit on the bike. Fender and brace etc too if you like.
Cool.
