I seem to recall hearing that some UK GS500s had fork preload adjuster caps rather than the plain fork caps we get over here in the states. Is that true, and if so, anyone got a part number or a set they want to sell? : )
Yes they are availible in the Euro market.Catch JayWolf on here.He maybe able to help you locate a set and get them shipped to you.
Im pretty sure i have a set on my 2001 forks , when i got the bike , the reason i got it so cheap was because the forks were bent , but i replaced it with my katana front end ,
The threads are good and there are no damage , if there on there , ill check shipping , i wouldnt want much for them as i dont use them ,

Unless you have got clip-ons or risers fitted it could be difficult. There is limited space between the underside of the OEM spec USA bars and the top of the fork tubes, you might find there is not enough distance to accomodate the adjuster rods that stick out of the cap without them fouling on the bars.......probably why you didnt get them to start with.
Ideally you need the top yoke and the clip-ons as well.
I'm mounting a set of Woodcraft clipons, so clearance won't be a problem. : )

You can also use handle bar risers to get the bars up and/or back to make room.
Well ill have a looke 2moz , and get back u 2 asap

Yes, they will work or you can add 15w and a 1/2 inch spacer while you're at it.
Actually, if I can get Suzuki part numbers too from someone in the UK, that'll be nice incase I have to prove that a GS500 did in fact ship with them. : )
I had the Suzuki part numbers for the adjustable caps. All the dealers I called either did not have that P/N or they wouldn't order it because the caps are euro standards.
Even if I can't order them, having the part number will make going through tech easier. : )
This is bascially what we get here in the UK. You can see the adjusters built into the top of the fork-caps, personaly I think they are fuggin` useless and your money would be better spent on a set of Progs` but thats another issue.

You could get in touch with a UK breaker and ask them to send you a set of caps over, you could even get the top yoke and OEM Suzuki clip-ons.

I'm not entertaining thoughts that the caps are a replacement for proper springs and oil, I just want to make fine-tuning preload at the track easier. I've already got springs and emulators on order via Racetech, these would just be the final icing on the front suspension cake.
