Title: Tank Petcock
Post by: BladeRunner on March 10, 2008, 03:04:48 PM
I have found two pictures on the site that conflict with each other. One shows the RES line coming from the front outlet of the tank petcock, the other shows the RES line coming from the rear outlet of the tank petcock. Is there a difference in year models? My bike is a 1999 and I have leak from one of the fuel hoses out of the tank. The first pic is off the site and the other is from the Wiki. Both views are from the left side of the bike.

The reserve outlet has a R embossed on the valve.

There are 3 different fuel chicken/selector valve arrangements and for 89-00 and 01-02 the parts fiche pics are screwed up, the selector valve is pictured from the left side of the bike and the tank shut off valve from the right side.  The 04 and later are shown correctly with both pictured from the left side.  All models have the same shut off at the tank with the long tube towards the front of the bike being the ON hose and the short tube towards the rear being the RESERVE hose.
