I used to work with this guy who seems to tell a lot of lies. He constantly talked about riding his dads harley, cbx, and various other high powered bikes that never really happened. He shows up one day with an 89 honda hurricane that is described as a cbr600rr. He rides once with me w/o gear, shows up and about dumps his bike half a dozen times before I start slowing down........a lot. Now, keep in mind that I am by no means a very skilled rider. I only took the msf course a year ago and have been riding the gs since very regularly (about 3k on the clock now) All of a sudden the hurricane wasn't enough bike and he said he's gonna get a buell xb12r firebolt. I kinda shrugged it off and thought about the massive torque one of those things put out and figured he'd loop it once or twice and blow up in a flaming glory. A few days ago he shows up at work with a new jacket, helmet, and said to go look in the parking lot. I go outside not knowing what to expect and now shows up with a new old stock 06 cbr1000rr and a huge grin. I'm giving it a month before a big grease stain forms on one of our straight roads. The kicker is the old bike, he's hurting for money already and here is the ad for the old bike cause he's trying to recoup some of the duckets he just forked out for this thing: http://humboldt.craigslist.org/mcy/602304907.html :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo:
It blue books at 1920 in perfect shape. That is a rattle can job with many missing pieces, needs front tire, pipe, most of the electronics, and more.

Sweet squid on a liter bike. You have 2 choices talk till your blue in the face and try to work through to that little pea brain that he can't really ride all that well, and do everything you can in an effort to mentor the poor misguided soul. Or you laugh at the youtube video if he survives or contribute a few bucks to the company bouqet at his funeral.
Let your conscience decide.
i understand everyone has to make their own mistakes but ummm...some mistakes just shouldn't be allowed to be made. i mean, out of concern not only for your fellow human but also concern for the image of responsible riders everywhere i think maybe you should pull him aside and talk to him. if talking doesn't work, show him as many gruesome and gory vids you can find. if he still won't listen i guess just say a prayer. or you could club him in the head repeatedly untli he's unconscious and then return the bike to the dealership for him.
Case guards, that way when the bike goes hurtling down the interstate there's a chance something can be salvaged.
Pish stunt cages blech frame sliders is all he needs. Cages don't do crap when you don't turn and slam into something.
i'm not sure what will hurt more, the thought of a fellow human showcasing darwinism at it's best or the thought of such a nice machine being mangled from someone's stupidity.
Might be able to salvage the engine :dunno_white:
Darwin was a wise man.
all i can say is keep us updated with psots on him, and what/when he dumps it, and afterwards, any cbr parts for sale
maybe he'll blow the engine up so someone on here can figure out how to fit a 1000rr front end
seriously, its killing me watching him as he drags his knuckles up on that beautiful machine. Told me he did 105 in 3rd gear in town. Pretty cool huh........... :2guns:........... :thumb:
Pretty dead, yea..

Yeah blow the engine that's actually difficult to do anymore.
105 in 3rd sweeeeeeetttt Im usually passing through 105 on my way to third gear. Tell him he doesn't need anything more than first and second first for around town and second for the highway. The other 4 gears are for the grown ups to use.
I love that squared off rear tire.
You can buy 'em books and send 'em to school, but it doesn't mean they'll learn anything.

Maybe he'll accidentally drain the oil out of it and run it like hell??
WooHoo 105 in 3rd!!!!! My almost decade old 600 does that.......with like 4 grand left on the clock, but never in f%$king town. How dense do you have to be 105+0=fukt
I know, I know, its why I had to throw out my soap box here because he's smart as a mud post and I needed to rant.
Stick a crowbar in his spokes. I doubt he ever checks out his bike before riding. You might just save his life and get a hell of a laugh at the same time.
I'd do a short broom handle that way it won't damage the bike. The sounds of it,he'd prolly drop it any way.
hmmmmm, short broom handle sounds good to me! :thumb:
