I crashed today. Shouldve took a corner but didnt feel right, braked, went straight, into the grass on the corner, skidded in the grass and over she went. I only have some minor cuts on my leg and my shoulder hurts.
The gs has minor scraps on the blinker, the side of the engine, and the exhaust pipe. A small dent on the tank to match one on the other side, and the worst is bent handlebars.
Where is the best place to get parts, ebay?
I would either say ebay or here. Right now there is a gas tank from a '91 I believe on ebay. What all do you need?
Sorry about the crash, glad to hear you're not too banged up.
glad you made it out OK :thumb:
post up what you need, someone here may be able to help :thumb:
thanx. couldve been worse. I think I can get by with everything as is except the bent handlebars.. theres only a small dent in the tank.. the exhaust is scrapped up pretty bad but maybe I can take some sandpaper and polish to it.
The engine case cover, the round suzuki part, is ripped off too.
But now I cant ride anymore

Cool, you're alright. sucks about the bike. Do you think you target fixated ? Trash in the road ? Just too hot into the turn ?

nothing in the road. I think I was going too fast for my experience. I probably couldve leaned the bike over and taken the turn but it was a downgrade turn and I didnt know if I had enough traction surface for a turn like that. Tried to brake while I aproached the outside of the corner and went into the grass.. probably couldve also let off the brake a bit and rolled thru but in the grass I skidded to the left and right and went over..
just get a pipe slightly larger than your bars
take off grips/throttle
straighten
there you just saved some monies.
bikebandit.com has been really good to me
i used to order parts from my local shop but they take too long and i can get a better deal on the web.
thnx a LOT guys. I think we will try to bend it back. and maybe shop for a new crank case cover. also wish my tank and xhaust wasnt scratched and dented but what are u gonna do. :dunno_white:
bent them back last night. took 30 minutes. they seem to be okay. like it never happened..

cool, sounds like you learned, and we all can learn from your experience. so glad you're ok.

grab up some clip-ons...good opportunity. Either that or some MX bars.
