I have been trying to get my GS500 running for AGES now LOL After a carb rebuild she starts well enough on choke, but once choke is taken off, she dies. I have included a couple of videos from my phone to show what I mean. If I leave a little choke on she runs ok(ish), if you open the throttle a little (little less then 1/8th turn) she sounds like she is missing :dunno_white: I am thinking possibly air/fuel mixture?
First is choke off and dies as soon as starts (no chock, little throttle):

Second, little choke on and a little throttle:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sounds like a possible vacuum leak.Try starting with the petcock on PRI(PRIme).

THanks, I'll try that tomorrow :)
That didn't work :( Ah well, with the weather seeming to be improving I want to be able to ride her so I have given her over to a mechanic to fix once and for all!
Thanks for your suggestions anyway :)
Have you checked the float level? http://gstwin.com/float_height_check.htm

No  Ahh well, it is in more knowledgeable and capable hands then mine now. Although I will find out what was wrong so I know how to fix it in the future :icon_mrgreen:
the first video was pretty short, couldn't tell much.
the second video just seemed like the bike was still cold, and/or the idle was set too low. up the idle some and try again ?
