I'm in Columbus, Dublin specifically. I saw in the for sale section you were selling your bike? Are you looking to upgrade?

I just started riding in July 07.  Took the MSF course prior to getting the bike.  Last time I rode (last week) I didn't do so hot.  Kind of gun shy now and figured probably not a good idea to be on it when not fully focused.  Doesn't help me mentally to be a newbie  and riding alone!    Maybe I just need to give it more time.  I do love riding it.

Yeah, give it some time.  You can't give up too easy.   Then again, I wrecked my first bike within a week.  BUT, crazy as I may be, I went straight home and checked the internet for possible replacements.  I had my GS within two weeks!   Anyway, anything in particular you "didn't do so hot" on?  Although you might be crazy to ask me for pointers, there are a lot of experienced riders on here. :icon_mrgreen:

Nice!Welcome to the site. I'm in Cincinnati for school right now, but I'll be home over the summer. We should get together a ride with all the Central Ohio riders.

All the good curvies are in south eastern Ohio, so we should go there.

Ding, ding, ding.  I'd probably slow you guys down if it got too twisty though.

Wouldn't slow me down! I've never even rode twisties on my gs. Last time I was down there it was on a Yamaha Virago.

There are a few hairpins that I seem to really go granny around, but I am finding my comfort level with some of the less extreme portions of asphalt!  Good times powering out with a nice little lean going on.  No knee dragging going on for sure though! :icon_mrgreen:  There's a nice little S-turn not far from where I live that I seem to go a bit faster through each time.  I think it's my favorite for the time being.

Haha, I live a little S curve section of road near me too. It's about the only place I know of where there are a couple of good curves. I'm sure I'll find some more this summer though.

I'm in Cinci (Milford) as well. Moved here about 2 years ago.

As for nice roads around Columbus, I use to Ride the back roads from Marion to Hilliard for work when I lived up there and had my Katana. Rode 257 from Prospect to 33 to get to Mill Run. Used to be a very enjoyable ride with minimal traffic and some nice, but not to tight, turns.

If I get my GS where I'm comfortable on a long ride, I may make that trip some time still have some ex co-workers I get together with once in a while.
