Title: ignition switch question

when I bought my bike the key was broke off in the ignition. So I bought one off of ebay. What kind of bolt is holding that crazy thang on????

They are security bolts designed to snap off when installed. You can try a center punch to tap it loose, as stated in the service manual. The best way for me was to drill and use an ez-out.

I'm gonna have to remove my ignition switch to get the key code off the side of it & then take it to the dealer to get a key cut.  They said they'd cut the key for $7.50.  The locksmith wanted $125.

By the way, do the bolts have to be replaced with new ones?  From the service manual it looks like the heads snap off when proper torque is reached.
