Title: Leaky tube
Post by: Dublinman on April 06, 2008, 02:30:28 AM
Okay hope this is not a daft question.
There are two rubber tubes on the righthsnd side on the bike that point down towards the ground.
One of them is sealed at the end but mine has developed a crack and seems to be leaking water.
Could somebody please confirm what that pipe is for and best repair method.

Thanks for any help provided.

there should be 2-3 lines, 1 overflow from carbs, 1 overflow from tank (when you over fill or rain water), 1 over flow from the battery. all three should be able to drain, if they're plugged, unplug them :D

That's a drain from the airbox and it should have a split end.  You can squeeze that end to allow the oil/water to drain out.  Water is a byproduct of combustion and that's from the fumes sucked from the engine thru the hose from the valve cover to the airbox.

Thanks for the replies, was just a bit concerned when I saw a leak from the bike the other day.
Great help once again.
