I know it will be loud just wondering how too loud it will be. Earplug levels?
Thanks
Dylan
Ive got a straight through can on my snowmobile and it is extremely loud, like a giagantic bumble bee 8). How do you plan on getting a straight through one for the GS? It will be very loud with a straight through can, even louder if you have it come out underneath the bike and have it aimed at the ground, then you get the echo :lol:.
it is EAR SPLITING loud, even with helmet on...... i have done it, quickly changed my mind

Its an Erion racing exhaust that came with the bike. From what I can tell Erion only makes honda systems but the can has a chromed pipe with it that lines right up with the collector oulet. I guess I won't put it on if its going to be unbearably loud. I do have dual ducati cans but that is going to involve some welding underneath and I didn't want to spend the money at this point. Guess I will bite it and go ahead and do it.

try the cobra f1 series. Low, loud but i don't mide riding it home late at night either.
Sound damned good 8-10k rpm.
...and all you need is a hcaksaw and wrench and 30 minutes.
F1 = $130
Brand new Ducati ST4 DUAL cans = $50 + 50 welding = $100 for dual system

where is F1 available for $130? I'd really like to know!!Also, you have to take into account money/time to fab second exhaust can support since there isn't one on left side...

I had a D&D can slipped on stock headers on my 90 - big hole the size of my fist...well more like wrist. Surprisingly it was quieter at idle than my Yosh (GS yosh slipped on stock header)...to 3K it was quieter, 3-6K it was dead even with the yosh, and over 6K it definetly sent off car alarms ringing, you ears hurting and felt like someone have inserted a skewer into your ear and was scratching the back of your head...Well so I used it for 3 years...and never sat next to it with the thing running at 6K+...even the dyno guy was surprised at how loud it was and remarked GSXR's sound quieter with the same can on...So all I'd say is enjoy...
Cool.
Srinath.
funny about the D&D cans...I hear they're really loud from all sources. In one of the UK mags they were doing a long term zx-6r test and foudn out that the D&D full system is quieter without the can altogether-straight header, no muffler-than WITH the can on. And it was earsplitting loud either way. Just what my neighbors need...

Just guessed on the F1 - my friend works at an exhaust shop and I doubt he will charge me $50.
