Title: frame on ebay
Post by: lnb001 on April 06, 2008, 01:28:06 PM
What do you guys think about this frame on ebay?  I'm looking to start a project this summer and was thinking piecing together an old GS would be a good place to start.  Just not sure what to do if there are no papers to go with it?  Thanks.

soo either offer him less money or forget about it?  How much aggravation to get a new title?  Worth the money?  Or should I wait around to see if I can find a better deal?  Thanks.

What would be a reasonable offer here?  Shipping would be $100 and there is no title so i'm thinkin $50 bucks?  Anybody got any suggestions?  Anyone ever deal with a frame with no title?  Thanks.

Go to your DMV and find out what the process is before you loose money on the deal! Before I bought my bike i called Ct DMV and they told me what I had to do but even then they did not give me the correct information, which resulted in me having to go to RI DMV in Pautucket to get an abstract(verification that the bike was last registard t the person whom sold me the bike because the last time it was registard was in 04"), which was a pain in the butt, and CT DMV still ran the VIN numbers. So, if were me I would just to be safe speak with multiple people just to be assured you are getting the correct information. You might also see what it takes to get an abandond title for the frame, claime that someone left on your property, just have to make sure that it wasn't stolen  --- Best of luck- jIM :)

I would not pay more than $50 for a non-titled frame. Also, it would have to be for a track bike.

I have around $100 including shipping in the frame on my 92. It had some damage to the sub-frame but still a clean title.
