I would like to smooth out my power band a bit and decrease my warm up time, but I don't have the money or desire to change my exhaust and filter. I also like the idea of keeping the bike somewhat stock. I have a 2001 with 11000 miles. From what I see on the wiki I could go to 20/60/150 with the stock setup or 20/62.5/140 with a K&N drop in. I am assuming that the drop in is sans restrictor but I am not sure. Please any feedback /wisdom would be great. I live in Greensboro, NC just an hour north of Charlotte if that is relevant. I am trying to keep cost down and the bike on the road as I am a grad student and the bike is my only transportation.
Thanks in advance.
Steve
I'd do 20 pilots and 130 mains (yours are 17.5 pilots and 127.5 mains right).
Anyway, +1 on pilots and mains IMHO. Leave the mids be. Stay with paper filter in the airbox and of course the stock pipe.
1 step up is what I'd do. 150 is waaaaaay too much for a stock bike. K&N lunch box and pipe = 150.
Cool.

Will do. Where should I go to get the jets?
Thanks very much BTW
I dunno if you have a good local source, but in charlotte I have trained some local parts monkeys to do as I say ... So I could help you there if you need.
I sorta do a kit ... washers, jets, bolts for the float bowl etc in 1 pack like the 89-00.
Cool.

Cool! How much would you need for the kit?
$23 with shipping. Let me find and buy the bits before you start rejoicing.
Gimme a day or so.

No rush at all what with my grad school inforced poverty. I need time to go sell plasma for some cash. :icon_lol:
Well if ya gotta bleed for your bike, that's the best way to do it, with a sterile needle for cash. 8)

This is a little odd, but i also have a stock 01 with a hair over 11,000 miles (11086, to be exact) and I'd love to get in on this identical kit from you as well. Just thought i'd let you know in case you're ordering parts and can order more for cheaper or whatever :)
