I was looking at some of those too, you'll get the basics. Use Kerry's video to learn how to get to your carbs, then those vids on how to clean them.
lol i'll give it a shot lol how long does this usually take?

The hardest part is actually getting to the carbs, and then putting everything back on. Cleaning the carbs is fairly easy, just make sure you don't get any carb cleaner on your rubber bits.
While you're digging in the carbs see what kind of jets are currently installed so you won't have to rejet latter :thumb:
So carb cleaning and rejetting is sensibly done at the same time?

Saves you from cleaning jets. Also if you buy new orings nipples and seals you don't need to worry about melting the old ones. Heck if you just buy all new carbs.....just kidding :)

Just that US older GS came stock with 37.5 pilot jet and 122.5 main, if the carbs are out for cleaning it's good to check if jetting is stock and rejet with 40 pilot
and 125 main to get rid of that cold and lean nature :thumb:
Hey Tang,
Check this link. It might help.

I found these two vids to be very exhaustive and helpful:

Enjoy!

i was new to GS carbs until i recently stripped and rebuilt mine. its actually very simple if you follow the service manual. i searched for guides/videos/tutorials online for a while before i gave up and just got stuck in.

on the 2nd vid why did he mention notice how many turns?
ok nvm
and why are ppl chaning their stock jets and piliot to a diff one?
@Tang:
Because that is the infamous "air/fuel mixture screw", that sets the air/fuel ratio.
Stock-tuned GS carb's are set at ca. 3 turns out (i.e. turn screw all the way in, then 3 turns out). YMMV.
More turns out (or unscrew from current position) = richer mix
Fewer turns out (or screw in from current position) = leaner mix.
oh sweet thanks for the info
now what about the jets and pilot?
PS: i get my crankcase cover today woot!
