14 is the age of consent...not the acceptable age at which a girl can say "hey old man, wanna f%$k?" It's established to keep parents from freaking out and ruining some kid's life because he and his girlfriend had sex when they were sophomores.

Age of consent in Texas is 17. A local, aged 18 at the time, a legal adult here, had sex with his then 16 year old girlfriend. Her parents found out, pressed charges, had him arrested and charged with rape (though it was dropped to statutory rape in court). He's now on the watchdog's list and has to register every time he moves. He has to tell his employers he's a convicted sexual predator. People don't care why you're on the list...only that you're on the list.
But the whole system is completely f%&ked up. Though it's someone I hate...a lot...like the world's biggest douchebag...he got served a really pathetic deal by the state of Texas. We'll call him Screwed. Some underaged chick got knocked up by her boyfriend and freaked out...she told her parents and the cops that Screwed raped her. Screwed gets arrested, charged with raping a minor, gets found guilty and sentenced to 15 years. After he's convicted the Buddha Loves You comes clean but it's too late. Of course I think he kinda deserves to still be in jail because after she's confessed publicly, to family and police, and testing can clearly show he's not the father, I'm sure he could get out...but he still sits there.

i remember when i was just barely 18(maybe a month or so past my b-day), i was dating a girl who was 16. we had sex, her parents thought that they could use that as a way to get me arrested. but, lucky for me, consent age was 14. not that i woulda banged a 14yr old at age 18. i'm glad i'm married now. geez if i went to a club nowadays to pick up a chick i'd have to ask for ID. :laugh:
