I posted this earlier on the Other Board I frequent. My Day Started Shitty this Morning and Progressively got Worse.
Went to Help my uncle unload a Cook Stove at His Girlfriends House this Evening after work.On Our Return We Pull Across the Bridge over the Creek in front of His House. As usual I look in the Creek to see if the Trout Had Started running Yet.As I looked out the Window It was Like I was Tripping out on Acid. :? I thought Something Was Going Bad Wrong in My Head when I saw the Water Glowing Flourescent Green. We Got out to see what the Sh!t was Going on and Decided to call the Wildlife rescources. After not being Able to find their Number I called the Sherrifs Department to have them Get in touch.Within 10 Minutes I Hear Sirens which is the Local Fire Department to Investigate.
In another 25-30 Minutes the Water Cleared but was still Glowing Green on Down the Creek where my Other uncles Cattle were Drinking.I tried my Best to run them off but it did no good.Anyway this evening I was in the Middle of Answering Questions to Health Department Officials,State Troopers Still Everyone is Puzzled.I just Hope it wasn't what I think it was.It took 2 Hours to Move from my Uncles House in the First Picture to the Third Picture which is 1/2 Mile down the Road. The Second Picture was close to 1/4 Mile Down Stream.
Whats it look like to you guys? The Pictures doesn't do any Justice.

The Nightly News this Evening said that it was a Confirmed Antifreeze Spill.I'd like to know How many thousands of Gallons. It was at least Enough to Displace the Water for several Thousand Feet without Mixing. They still don't know where it came from. :dunno_white:
twas about what i was going to say. keep a CLOSE watch on the livestock , that will f%$k em up, if not downright kill em. shaZam! tastes like sugar
There was a story bout a woman who put it in her hubbys coffee , not even alot , he cant walk anymore and hes blind ,
and another person had come put in his bottle of coke as a joke , and it killed him , i would keep very careful eye over the Livestock
Jesus christ! That's a boatload of antifreeze!
I sure hope they find the ass that let it get into the creek.
Yeah Someone Poisoned one of my Dogs a couple of weeks Ago with Antifreeze.Thought he was just a Little under the weather until the Last day when it really took Effect.I rushed him to the Vet when I got Home from work.He died within just a few minutes after I got him back home.I hope this was Accidental and if it wasn't I hope that it was no one that I know.If it was Intentional I hope it's the Person who Poisoned my Dog.
Hmmm i have had anitfreeze shot in my face from cars I was working on and im sure i drank some as far as i can tell im still alive and well
that is a tremendous amount of antifreeze! i'm not sure how that could be accidental but you never know. :dunno_white: hopefully everything works out fine and nobody is hurt or injured. livestock included. let us know how it plays out.

That actually explains alot....
Thats a shaZam! load of antifreeze. i had a pond that someone decided would be a good dump place for that
meanings :cookoo:
There are some "Corporate Executives", Law Enforcement, Representatives, and "those that looked the other way".........that need to be punished. Harshly.........and with extreme predjudice.
this is so sad man. little streams and creeks like this one give so much life to us. fresh trout, salmon, and crawfish. water is the keeper of life for small things that can't scream in agony. just one irresponsible fool can poison the life stream for years, killing your livestock, livelyhood, and possibly your life.
a small fine is all they face if caught. what a shame. :(
I see s**t like this all the time,(really pisses me off) usually its an illegal mexican parked in front of a storm drain letting his oil drain right in, or they just drop the plug in any parking lot refill and leave. I call the cops everytime i catch them.. This crap kills!!

That would tick me off so much! :2guns:
that sucks ,antifreez does more damage than oil , do you have any rail lines near you? that looks like quite a volume!!!
hope you didn't loose any animals !
i've heard that alot of people who do things like this, "don't want to pay the recycle costs of the material." that's a load of crap too! even the places that do charge don't charge that much i think. that's the main reason i take my car to get the oil changed. sure i could do it myself. but them i'm stuck trying to transfer th old oil somewhere to get properly disposed of. hell, i've even know left my old oil at a place i new recycled it. i didn't have the money for the fee so i left it at the door to the shop late at night. eh, yeah it was wrong but you know at least i didn't pour it down a storm drain!
As an environmentalist... this is appaling..
Ethelyene glycol in a water system is not good.. whoever spilled it, is not a home mechanic.. EPA should have been notified on it as well as your states water resources board.
The cleanup is goign to be a mess.. the area is goign to be contaminated for a while.
I dont regulate coolant, but i do work in the field.
Well According to an Official that Was Called this Evening the Cause Was Sea Dye used in Case of a Ship Wreck.I hope Whoever done it gets Whatever is coming to them.

So a ship wrecked in that creek? :icon_lol:
Hopefully the catch the ass who did this. :2guns:
That was my first thought, but I thought you said it had already been determined to be anti-freeze.
Shark die is a low dispersion flourescent die to color water around pilots or sailors in the ocean it makes it easy for SAR too see them and contains a chemical agent that sharks don't like the smell/taste of.
We had a whole case of it in high school....friends in the navy.
Let's just say the only reason the public pool didn't get done is because I respected my polace of employment, snobs with private pools and a city fountain were another story
so is this dye harmful to the ecosystem?
Nope, its just a damn nuiscance.

Yeah that was According to the Local Nightly News. :icon_rolleyes:
so it may actually just be a childish prank with some non-harmful dye? :dunno_white:
