Title: Taped up my new lid
Post by: nightrider on April 13, 2008, 05:56:23 AM
Taped up my new lid. Reflective white sheet, orange, and leftover yellow from streetglo.net. Oh, they forgot to send me my order, but ridegear was taking 2-6 weeks for a helmet order, so I switched helmet orders to helmetcity.com and streetglo eventually got it together and it worked out perfect in time to look badass this week. Yes, ppl take notice. Oncoming cars, cars in same lanes, people who see me carrying it etc. I'm happy. Nice!

I thought they still burned Communists at the stake over there?

It looks cool, in a sort of 70s death-stunt kind of way. Methinks you need to respray your bike to match.

the 3M stuff is a really good idea. i did some 'custom' taping on my helmet also.

looks good, most importantly, it will get people to look twice. :)

Hey Nightrider, looks real good. I wanted to ask you where on streetglo.net could I find plain sheets of reflective tape to buy. All I'm seeing are alot of pre-designed stickers but cannot find a link to just plain sheets of that stuff. I put some reflective tape on my helmet a while back but I used this real cheap stuff I found on e-bay and I'd like to change it to something  of higher quality. Thanks

Haha. I bought it from my Bulgarian neighbor who works in porn. No seriously. BUT you can reverse the cushions to mocha imitation snakeskin when leopard print is just too much.

Motocyclista, halfway down on the right side of their page is Reflective Tape. click on that, then go down in the options bar to the sheeting.

The stuff has always been overpriced if amazing and streetglo probably marks it up a shatload so if anyone finds anywhere else let me know! I used to dig the non-reflective mylar out of dumpsters to make street stickers.

no kidding dang. thats funny.

and yes its an RF-1000. Bigger tape width/more curve = easier application, the finer lines are very hard to do straight. If I was going to do my own black one, I'd probably go bold/bright primary colors. whatever's clever.

I have a black Shoei RF-1000 as well. I bought some cool dragon decals off ebay (lethal threat is the name of the decal). It came with two large one's that the tails almost touch and come around the front and the two smaller one's are doing the same thing on the bottom. I figured why pay $450 for a Shoei-RF1000 with a dragon painted on it or I could pay seven bucks on ebay and get what I want. I've gotten a lot of complements on it. People thought it was painted until I showed it up close to them. I also have a small decal that says " If your not living on the edge your taking up too much space"

But, your's is way more creative than mine!
