Kalee's computer keeps popping up saying that there's either an error loading a USB device, that the device would run faster if connected via a USB 2.0 port, or that the device has been safely/unsafely removed. The problem here is that all her ports are USB2.0 and there is nothing plugged in except her mouse and keyboard (which register as fully functional under device manager...device manager also registers the faulted USB port so we know it's not the keyboard or mouse).
Anyone have any ideas? This computer does no downloads except WOW updates so we're pretty sure it's not the most common virus.
Do you have XP? SP2 installed? XP will not support USB 2.0 w/o SP2 :thumb:
xp and all our USB2.0 stuff works. It's not a problem with anythign we've plugged into it...all we have is the mouse and keyboard and it's worked perfectly since day one.
sounds like your computer is going :cookoo:
your not even trying to plug anything in and these things pop up?
hopefully you have at least tried the all mighty reboot!
also, in the device manager right click on the faulty usb and check for driver updates, scan for hardware changes, and/or disable/or/uninstall and then enable/or/install
whats the manufacturer? call them and be nice so they will help you.
if you want a good anti-virus sign up for an aol email account(you dont have to download aol) and download their free McAfee security center
goodluck!
