Title: 2004 GS500 in US?
Post by: pantablo on August 22, 2003, 11:24:54 AM
Picked this up on a thread in socalsvriders.com...I've put in bold item of importance...

I have a friend whose mom owns a talent agency.

He called me up the other day saying that they were looking for some riders. So my wife and I went down tonight to audition.

They liked the fact that my wife owns an SV, but other than that, they weren't really all that interested in us. I'm pretty sure part of it is that we told them we would need some lead time before we could just "show up" for a photo shoot. Also, I'm not all that photogenic (but my wife is...). I figured with a full helmet, I'm just as pretty (or ugly) as any other rider, so who really cares, right?

Anyway, they had some 2004's there... Get this, a yellow 2004 GS500... with a full fairing.

Sorry, no SV's. A couple of DL650's and DL1000, even a busa... oh yeah and a Volusia cruiser... didn't really know what I was looking for, but the GS didn't look too bad (from what I saw, the only real difference is the fairing).

Anyway, I'll find out in the next few days or so whether or not they are going to use us for the photo shoot.

IF a 2004 comes out it will surely be fuel injected which means a tad more power and smooth throttle response and I pray updated rims and tires.

I wonder if it could just be a Canadian 2004 they brought down for the shoot.

Hey, I've got Chimivee's sync tool.  Lets get your bike down to my house and check the carbs again.  Before you leave.
