I have an 04 gsf and nee to fix my jet issue. I have a V&H full exhaust with Uni filter pods. WHat size jets do I need and how many washers and turns on the mix screw. I live at sea level a few miles from the beach. my present jetting is in my sig
After meditating your problem the buddha says ...
11111111 ..... 145 mains.
OK the logic behind it is this.
The one and only guy that ran Uni pods with pipe said 145 worked on his ... now I cannot remember if it was on an 01+ or a 89-00. That we'll call "the Dalai Lama said so" I know him well, he's not that communicative about his bike's jet settings.
OK so we have that 1 item.
Here is some extra logic for your enlightenment.
I know for a fact 127.5 for K&N in airbox, and 125 for uni in airbox.
K&N pods to Uni pods therefore must be 1 size down.
Ergo - I'd try 145.
BTW how is it running right now. Post its symptoms. If its good I'd just use it.
Cool.
Buddha.
it has a flat spot around 4.5-6k, pops from the carbs with the choke on during warm up, seems to hunt will crusing but not that much, bike takes forever to cool down and the plugs are a lil white.
K 4-5K and up you're lean. OK go up 1-2 sizes. 150's maybe.
Now you sure you dont have an air leak ... You cant be lean ... which you are. 147.5 and still lean ... OK what you have float height set to ?
Cool.
Buddha.
never adjusted them but never had any issues with them. but once I get my truc up and running I will take the carbs of clean them and check the float hight but I dont know where it needs to be. I was thinking going up on the main jet just wasnt shure how much. would the pilot and mid effect anything.
You're lean from ~1/3 of the way up. Clear to the top end.
BTW you're not standing and revving to 4K and claiming its lean right ???
That surging at mid range is definetly lean.
Cool.
Buddha.
Nlo this is all from road experience. so which jets do I need to replace? the bike revs fine in N. everything else is just blah. im not sure which jet does what so am not sure which to change.
