Whatsup,
My name is Ryan. I am a relatively new owner of an '02 gs500. I got it second hand and it has about 7k miles on it now. I come to this board to maybe find one of the discontinued Yosh exhuasts and for some advice on a couple of other things as well.
Here are the things I've done so far...
1. Progressive Suspension springs. New fork oil.
2. Cleaned and rejetting the carbs. I changed them to 20, 62.5, and 140.
3. Replaced stock air filter with K&N drop-in.
4. Replaced stock tires with Avon Azaro radials (AZ-45 and AZ-46).
5. oil filter change and new plugs.
6. Replaced cylinder head gasket (was leaking a little oil).
7. Repainted exhaust pipe.
8. Installed SV650 mirrors.
As you know I'm looking for a new exhuast as well as new handlebars that will give it a sportier feel. Also any other tips would be nice :).
Thanks,
Ryan
Welcome!
I got some woodcraft clip-ons which will give you a more sport feel, let me know if you want them. Pm me if you are interested and we can work out a deal
Do you have pictures of them?
Furthermore, I'm probably going to head over to Deal's Gap this summer as well as take some nice rides thru the catskills with my dad. I'm from the north NJ area. Anyone know some good roads?
Thanks,
Ryan

Head gasket change is best accompanied by a valve and seat recut job as well as a hone and new rings for the cylinders. A sorta while you're in there, get the things that suzuki screwed up on.
Cool.
Buddha.
Ooooooooooohhhhhh Aaaaahhhhh!
I know something that would be nice on the cosmetic end.

You see how the frame is painted black? What kind of paint should I use because I want to duplicate that :)
Thanks,
Ryan
Strictly Verboten!
Only SPECIAL GS's get the dark frame colors! :)
Take a trip down to a well-stocked NAPA store. They have spray cans in all kinds of different metallic colors. All you have to do is totally disassemble your GS in the middle of riding season. :o
and ive got a dark frame in my garage :icon_twisted: ( waiting on the john deere project )
Yeah since it's purely cosmetic I don't mind waiting.
I know I could probably just search but I'm studying for some calc.....
Are you guys meeting at Deal's Gap at some point?
Thanks,
Ryan
