Title: Fork Seal Driver
Post by: bucks1605 on April 16, 2008, 07:18:21 AM
I'm going to be replacing the fork seals on my kat forks soon and I need some kind of fork seal driver. I can't really afford to buy one... http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/fork_seal_drivers/ (http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/fork_seal_drivers/) ... I've heard you can use pvc to seat the seal. If so what diameter would the pipe need to be? Anybody ever use pvc? Or anything else for that matter?

Yea I use PVC all the time. Take the assembled leg to Homedepot. in the pvc section get the one that fits over the chrome leg but inside the seal's outer lip. I think 1 1/2 inch ... but dont count on my memory.
Cool.

Not sure what that means, but it'll probably make sense once I'm looking at it.

I get inch and a half, but schedule 40?

And yes the buddha is totally hiding from the alias chicks illegitimate love child and the schedule 40 pipe with the rimbaldi artifact that can be used to make this red liquid that can destroy the world and give you external life at the same time.
Cool.

I get inch and a half, but schedule 40?

It has to do with the pressure rating and its minimum wall thickness. 1-1/2" Nominal Sch 40 has a .145" wall and Sch 80 has a .200"
