Title: I was a bad girl
Post by: Toogoofy317 on April 19, 2008, 09:01:18 PM
Well, yesterday I did something totally stupid but I enjoyed it. I was not happy with my moto siting outside in the parking lot turning into a rust bucket. So, a friend of mine offered to let me keep it in his garage until my ankle healed.  It was about five miles from my house my friend does ride but he insisted that I try to ride it. He thought it would be good to get back in the saddle. Honestly, most of the ride didn't hurt I could apply the brake and when stopped could balance it on my tip toe. But, there was this bridge and it felt like I was bouncing around like a rubber ball and that tremendously aggravated my ankle which I am paying for today.

So, although I thoroughly enjoyed the ride I don't think I am quite ready to ride yet? what do you guys think

My thoughts.Happy you're ok.Read where you had an accident on ya bike.I would've dun the same thing you did.Ride it to a safe place. However the title miss led me greatly.I was expecting something about bikes, leather undies, and a drafty ride in a warm place.Guess I'm just getting to be an old pervert.  :dunno_white:

Just teasin.  :icon_mrgreen:

Wait until you heal a little more. It would suck injuring it more, prevent riding even longer.

When I bought my TLR, I had a broken left collar bone from a previous motorcycle wreck. Once trailered home, I had to ride. Extremely painful braking.

I guess to suit you pervs out there my post should have went like this:

Yesterday I did something totally stupid but erotic. I was upset because my pimpilicous ride was getting rust on it like an 80 year old Ho! So, my pimp said that as long as I ride it over in my leathers and whip him afterwards that I could store it in his crack house. So, I put on my best leather G-string and rode it hard for about five miles. My ankle hurt because the bridge felt like one of those cheap vibrating beds at work. So, I am paying for it today 'cause I can't wear my high heels to walk down OBT. So, Ya'll think I'm ready to ride my baby long and hard!

Okay that was really bad. Hope you get a chuckle out of it.

My ankle is really killing me today though after work ( no I don't walk OBT) I'm actually a security officer for Lock Heed Martin missle defense corporation. So, don't piss me off! :2guns:

indeed, hehe i did some tech installs, mostly audio and stuff ehre in oak ridge. had to come back three times, morons could not figure out how to use a f%$king tv or powerpoint or whatnot. these guys were engineers. and they continually broke stuff, last time i returned, i said, if ive got to come back cause someone broke a piece of equipment, through THEIR fault, im going to have to charge for that. ( i made more than enough to deal with the "courtesy calls") but i was getting pissed. and dumbfounded

Dude,

They are dumber than a box of rocks. They know that we come around every two hours to make sure that they are 1) either in there or 2) the door is secured and they didn't leave any classified material laying around but, about half of them look suprised when I knock on the door to verify their ID. Then some of them yell at me for doing it. I'm like if you idiot's would lock the doors when your done and put the classified documents in the proper containers I wouldn't have to baby sit you. They have such an ego too.

The worst part of the job though is the approximately 700 tourist that get lost and end up on the property. They act like it is my fault that they are lost. Some of the idiots think the guard shack is a toll booth so they try to do a u-turn on a one-way street that leads to a busy road. About two months ago I almost got killed by one of them coming in on my bike and they came up the road the wrong way!

Fun times!

Yeah, and I bet if you confront em about being retards they blame it on absent-mindedness because they're 'focusing' so hard on current projects................Do they even have internet filters??  I've met a few LM engineers and they seem like the lonely pervert type that would spend all day looking at porn at work

Thanks Ohgood for the offer I'm actually in Kissimmee would have been a bit of a long haul to take my bike less than five miles. My friend did follow me in his truck and if I needed to get off I could pull over and he would take control. Just the thought of someone else on my baby makes my heart skip a beat! I hope the surgery for your son goes well. If it is ok with you I will put him on our prayer list at church. Sure can't hurt!

Buddha,

I know your love for five dollar porn. I will go out to OBT and film some of the local wildlife for ya! Would you like drive in or dine out they offer both on OBT. For real skank I'd have to go down to Parramore but I'd probably got shot.  :o

Yeah, OBT or Orange Blossom Trail is mmmm bad oakay! It's the kinda place that if you have to stop on your bike for say a red light you pray someone doesn't come stab you and take off with your bike! Or if you ride without your gear on some homeless person might touch you and give you some communicable disease from anywhere in the world. I guess I will have to take a video and show you guys what you are missing at the world's top tourist destination! A cop a few days ago was tased by a guy sitting on his bike in a strip mall parking lot. That scares the bejesus out of me. If I get shockd with a taser it could kill me because of my defibrillator. Yet, any person can walk into any gun shop , army/navy surplus. or hell a flea market.

Wanna come on vacation down here! It's not all about the mouse you can go to wet' N wild where an 17 year old was shot!

I love my city! ANd yeah Buddha I'll kissayou! JK

I can think of a few worse neighborhoods.........

Mine.I have a whore house in front of me,2 crack houses next to that, another whore house behind and to the left of me.That's on my street with 8 houses on my street. It's 3x worse on the next street back. The reason I'm up at night is to protect my family and property from crack heads breaking into houses and cars.I've had 7 attempted break ins,3 actual break ins(no lose,I caught them),3 attempted auto break ins.I've also had 3 arson fires on my block,2 across from me.One arson damaged my house. All this happened last year. The crack heads get pissed off at the whores and burn their houses down, cause the hoes won't share the wealth.I would move but I'd loose my a$$.I own 2 houses next to each other.I live in one and refuse to rent the other. My combined property value is $32,000.If I was on the other side of the main road,my combined property value would be closer to $100,000.I despise most of South Carolina.

I did that when I was 16.I had an 89 Mazda B2200 SE5 with a camper shell and a matress.I toured the south eastern coastal states.I would park behind the big rigs at a truck stop.I'd walk up between the trucks, pick out a company name and truck number, tell the cashier the info and ask for my free shower with the truck fuel up.I would even get free fountain drinks. It lasted until I was nineteen.I'd work thru fall and winter, travel thru spring and summer.Wish I could go back.

Idiots will buy unwanted crap and turn it into completely useless and expensive crap if money is cheap. Some solid inflation with accompanying double digit interest rates will really help though.

welcome back on two wheels... patience, you don't want to agravate that ankle alot it will add weeks of healing to the process, I know... I used to do it all the time on a broken fibula, until the doctors placed me into a wheelchair and a cast to the knee to prevent me to walk on my foot. took 6 months for me to repair my ankle instead of usuall 8 weeks. cheers...

I rode the bike yesterday to the store and honestly it hurts less to ride the bike than to drive the car  :cookoo:. Unfortunately, I don't know how to get the crutches on the bike I was thinking maybe I could use a cane. Gas is just getting so darned expensive that $50 a week just to drive around to all my docs ain't cutting it. I am supposed to find out next Thursday if I will need surgery. I know today at work I was called in and ended up having to do some stairs and quite a bit of walking and tonight my ankle was huge. I want to ride desperately just not at permanent damage to my ankle.

As far as Disney itself goes it is hell! I worked there for eight years seven in various attractions and my last in security at Downtown Disney. It has gotten nasty down there too. I am so amazed at how disney keeps krap out of the news. Our motto down there was come on vacation leave on probation. The worst part about working security down there is you were not supposed to touch the guest even if they kicked your ass. I had a fellow co-worker walk into the BET club while a drug deal was going down he got three broken ribs and a head injury and he got reprimanded for getting hurt. Another jumped into the lake in the back to save an officer who was trying to save another person and he was getting pulled under. Well, the cast member handed his radio to a guest so it wouldn't get ruined and saved both from drowning he got a formal reprimand for not keeping up with his equipment! Go figure.

In downtown Orlando esp the Parramore district they are trying to build all tha fancy condos and bistros and such but they don't know where to put the homeless people and crack heads. They were trying to push them from OBT, to Parramore, to I think most are being pushed into Silver Star. It's  a problem the town thinks will go away if the charaties would just stop feeding them. That will solve the problem right!??!

But, all is good they built Holy Land. Where they crucify Jesus everyday and you can help!

Ahh, my "City Beautiful" !

Good luck at the Docs, watch out for those surgeons, they're freakin seriously disturbed individuals.  Seriously given the choice of having to sleep in a room with a drunk Green Beret or a surgeon, I would choose the grunt any day of the week.

holy shaZam!...this is too funny. Never thought OBT would a topic of discussion on gstwins. In Orlando OBT is basically where most of the nasty hookers and drug dealers hang out....the whole road has a bad rep. Althought there is an AWESOME motorcycle mechanic on OBT, near the SR 50 intersection.  Charges half of what CycleScammers I mean CycleRiders of Orlando charge.

I work at the Lockheed Main Plant located at Sand Lake and where Kirkman dead end's at. Who in their right mind thought of that? Let's take one of the busiest tourist road's and have it dead end in a missle contractor plant! So, about 500 times a day I have to tell the tourons no this is private property and you need to go that way. "But, my GpS made me come through here".  I seriously doubt your GPS system held a gun to your head your just too damn dumb to read the signs.

I used to live in Winter Park was told it was the nice part of town yeah right! Had my car broken into and stole everything even the amp that was bolted down. One day was riding my bike and passed out ( heart went haywire) I was accross the street from the hospital No one bothered to call 911. When I finally came to I was sunburnt and dehydrated didn't know where I was. EMS finally had to ping the GPS on my phone. Turned out there was a guy mowing the lawn about 100 feet from me when EMS asked why he didn't help "he thought I was asleep". Then they let him hold my $300 bike! At least they got his name and phone number.

As far as surgeries I'm about afraid of them as you are SPCTerry. Had a surgery in October supposed to be a same day outpatient surgery. Well, since I have terrible veins they apparently had to get a bigger IV access so they used my neck for a central line. It was pulled out while I was asleep so really didn't notice it. Was having a lot of chest pain after words they chalked it up to my krapped out heart. What happened was when he was removing the central line he nicked the lung and it partially collapsed. The nurse called the doc about the pain but didn't tell him it was right sided chest pain. So, gave me a shot of pain meds and sent me home. Next day at primary's and had to be admitted for it! When they did arthroscopy to my knee my heart acted up and so was admitted but they forgot to tell the surgeon my knee was immobolized for three weeks when I should have been moving it the next day. IMHO doctor's here in Florida suck! I"m not even going to get into Shand's on how I got shocked with a defibrillator while awake.

So yes I am very paranoid of doctors these days. I just want Thursday to get here to find out the CT results and get one with the rehab!

nice bike.  :thumb:
sorry to hear your mis-adventures with doctors.

The real question is, how do you get a handicap license plate on a motorcycle ?? isnt that an oxymoron ??
Don't get me wrong but, doesnt handicap mean mobilitity issue (ie: arm or leg non functioning?)

PS: if you have a heart condition, should you really be riding a bike. ?

You can get one for a car and it takes no more strength or stamina to ride a bike than to drive a car.  Can be a problem if you drop it though.  If your over 75 and still riding a bike you can get one for being mentally handicapped here.   Seriously, one of the criteria here is how far you can walk without runnng out of breath.  Fortunately I can still ride faster than I can walk, much faster.

Orthopedic Surgeons are just evil people......kinda.......the bastard did fix my thumb, but seriously, looking at pins sticking out of your hand for 6 weeks is a little creepy.

Shands, what do you expect, it's a learning hospital at a major party school :icon_rolleyes:  I lived there, way on back in the day when my mom was going to law school.

Pb:  I've got a friend that took 2 bullets in his upper right thigh, extensive neuromuscular damage.  He can still walk though it's painful past a point, but he has no problem riding a bike and is technically handicapped.  What's the problem with that?

First time I saw a handicap plate on a bike was over 20 years ago at an annual get together in Akron, OH.  Middle aged guy that had MS, he added a sidecar to his old Virago a couple years later and carried his wheelchair in the sidecar but was still riding.   :thumb:

That's awesome, glad he didn't let anything keep him from riding :thumb: :thumb:

You have no idea how many times I get that lecture. You shouldn't be riding. Usually it comes from people who have no idea about my heart problem. I have spoken with my cardiologist and he has okayed it as long as I am responsible about it. If I don't feel 100% I don't ride. I've only ever passed out due to low blood pressure and I check it before I go. If I'm out somewhere and don't feel good I call a friend and get a ride home. If I stopped everything that people suggested I stop doing I might as well be dead. You shouldn't try to play basketball, you shouldn't work and go to school, you should never have a drink (I have one mud slide on my b-day) don't do anything that excites you, don't get stressed out, you shouldn't live alone, don't ride roller coasters, don't ride your bicycle, on and on. But, at twenty seven I'm not going to sit on the couch all day and have a pity party because of the things I can't do. I've already have to give up two careers and a lot of other things to this heart problem. If my heart gives out or my defib fires it sure as hell ain't gonna matter if I'm in a car or riding a bike. Honestly, if my AICD fires while I'm on my bike I'm apt to hurt a lot less people than if it happens in a car. Besides in seven years my defibrillator has never fired. My philosophy is I'd rather go home sliding into home plate than sitting on the couch longing for the life I wanted to have.

As far as the handicapped plate goes. I really don't use it all the time except maybe at the mall or large stores like Wal-Mart where you have to do alot of walking. Most of the time riding a bike does not require that much physical effort. In Florida the law is that you have to have a physician write a letter stating that you cannot walk more than 100 feet due to physical impairment i.e. limb, lungs, heart, or back. In my case I'm in heart failure and have three herniated disk in my back, and at the moment a severly sprained ankle. I guess that is why so many people give me issues is because " I don't look sick" I hate that more than anything in the world do I have to look like quasimoto to not get constantly harrassed. Even a good friend of mine made the statement "you're so lucky you get to park up front" Hell, I'd trade hearts with ya if you want my tag that bad. What I would give to be able to not have to guess if I will be able to get up in the morning or if I will have to cancel my plans and spend the day in bed because I can't physically get up. I guess that is what is so frustrating because my heart kinda has a mind of it's own. The past few weeks I've been feeling well other than the ankle. Woke up yesterday morning and today. Couldn't get out of bed. Had to call in sick to work and spent all day today in bed debating on if I should go to the ER and have to spend the next few days in the hospital. Or stay home and pray that when i wake up the heart will want to go to work and allow me to go to work. and on top of all that I've got Chron's disease which kept me in the hospital the whole month of February. So, I think my krapped out body deserves a little shorter walk to the front of the store!

Ok sorry off my soap box now!

Mary S.

Well, my heart condition is called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Apparently I had it all my life but it didn't show up until I was 21 just finished EMT school and about to go into  Navy ROTC start as a flight medic and eventually Med school. As you can imagine with this diagnosis they dropped me like a bad habit. In essence my heart the septum ( muscle that divides the four chambers) is twice the size it should be and due to that it can screw up the electrical pathways hence the defibrillator. Usually, you hear about this disease when you hear of a young athlete in their prime just falling over dead in the middle of a game or work out. It actually occurs one in 500 people. The severity of the disease can range from no symptoms to heart transplant. My doctor in Boston says I will probably need a transplant eventually. Sad I have to travel to Boston just to see a doc but there really aren't any good specialist down here.

Chron's disease is a gastrointestinal disease that also has no cure. Pretty much the body kinda turns on itself and gets extremely inflammed causing severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomitting, and sometimes bowl obstruction. What makes it so hard on me is that the medication prednisone and remicaide put me into heart failure and almost killed me. The remicaide when not given with benedryl caused me to have a severe allergic reaction. But, I still have to take it every six weeks now with benadryl at the same time. I swear at times the cure is just as bad as the disease.

The side effects from these medications are terrible but it keeps me going. It seems like everyday I get up I'm preparing for war somedays I lose the battle and end up in the hospital but other days I win and get to enjoy another day! guess that is why I bitched so much when I can't ride my bike because of this petty ankle krap. I've been through so much and an idiotic moment is causing me to miss out on things I love to do esp when the rest of me felt so good!

Oh well, You asked for it!

So, I'm guessing you live in the UCF area? I only work a day or two a week due to me getting disability and my PT  but I usually do have a few available days off so maybe we could do a ride sometime soon or just meet up for lunch or something. Does you GF ride two up with you would like to meet her too!

no problem , lets not start a fight, I was just asking. maybe my mind is just amused by seeing a handicapped plate on a motorbike okay. being from Canada the "known rules to have a handicapped plate/tag " are very different.. take this question as a "question" nothing more please.

cheers.

PS: so in general are the handicapped parking place closer placed than the motorcycle parking places ?

Nope not mad at ya. I guess it is just a bit of a sore spot when you have people constantly running up to you and lecturing you on why you are abusing your grandmother's tag like that. Mostly, that happens on the car but one idiot said that with my bike and I cracked up and asked "does this look like my grandmother's?"

In Florida there are very few motorcycle parking spaces. And that would be at the hospital and about six spaces at the Florida mall. One day at Wal-Mart was trying to be nice and park it in the yellow area where the handicapped area was the woman started yelling at me and flashing her little handicapped hang tag at me. I was getting up set and rolled the bike up a little to be nice and she blew this ear splitting horn ( was a big red-neck truck) it startled me and at the time my knee wasn't completly rehabed and I ended up getting pinned between the pole and my bike. I screamed out for help she just laughed at me! After about ten minutes I finally got it off of me without it hitting the ground. If she would have still been around I would have beaten her with my helmet.

Most of the time I will just park up next to the building out of the way and no one really says anything. Mainly because I feel bad about taking up a whole spot when someone else could use it.

But PB it really takes alot esp on a forum to make me mad. You would have gotten a PM I don't bash people in public. I was just explaining what a lot of handicapped people go through on a regular basis. I try to realize that many of them are trying to be good citizens and making sure it is the truly "handicapped" that park there. My philosophy on that is let the cops do their jobs you never know if that person is on their last straw and about to lose it if they are confronted one more time! I've come close myself!

Have a good and safe day!
