Hey guys i just got a pair of clubman handlebars for my 06 gs and i need to know what size risers and where to get them. I have my fairings on the bike and without the risers the cultch and brake lever hit the fairing . I have seen pics of another 06 gs with these bars on them :icon_mrgreen: so i know its possible to do. Any help would be greatly apreteated
thanks randy
it took me a while to find risers too. another member on this site showed me this link
http://pitposse.stores.yahoo.net/noname88.html
they work great, they are the right price and they only took a few days to ship. good luck with em
thank you for the link. :thumb: I ordered a set this morningfrom that site :icon_mrgreen:
you could just of gotten another OEM bracket and stack them and get .29cents bolt from hardware store and get the same result. :)
cheers
the junk yard risers are cheaper but they look like crap.
if he got more oem bracket they might not stay on good becuase the little half circle part wouldnt be there. it probly would work but i personally wouldnt, and didnt try it.
thanks for all the help got them on today :icon_mrgreen:(http://gstwins.com/photogallery/albums/userpics/17964/normal_Picture_519.jpg)(http://gstwins.com/photogallery/albums/userpics/17964/normal_Picture_520.jpg)(http://gstwins.com/photogallery/albums/userpics/17964/normal_Picture_517.jpg)
nice and great work...but i would get rid of the big R you have on your fairing...no offence but it is squidly
slide your controls in and cut off the excess that way they look sleeker in my oppion all that extra pipe makes it look like they don't fit. and you might want to paint your risers to match your triple tree or paint all of it. might I suggest trim black? :dunno_white:
So that is what my bike will look like but flat black fairings with an R6 solo tail and the risers will be shorter just enough to clear everything. as far as clearing the top triple I will file that sucker down and lower the front as much as I can
I think i will slide in my controls and cut off the rest. they do look i bit to long. thanks for the idea :thumb:
also get some shorter barends. the bike will look sick Im going to get some black spikes and paint the top trilpe and bars black to fit the flat black colors of the fairings and frame
i thought about cutting my bars down a little too but i like where my hands sit like that, it would probly look better shorter though. oh well to each his own.
looks great btw though, im glad there are now fairing clearence issues, one of these days i may just throw mine back on for old times sake.
and about that big R, im with frankie. although big F imo would be sick. :thumb:
