I already had fun with the GS500, don't need another.  Here's my old GS:

Was a fun bike.  I enjoyed modding the hell out of it.

It was a supertrapp pipe so you could tune the sound and power.  Generally, I had a few too many disks in there and the neighbors knew what time I left for work.

It was fun but the GS has it's limits.  It's main job was to get me back into riding.  I sold it, made a few bucks and moved on to a 95 VFR750F.  Real classy bike.  Did everything great and was comfortable to boot.  Wanted something faster and I was in the mood for another streetfighter so I bought the gixxer.  Great fun till I got a screaming good deal on a Blackbird.  Nothing compares.  There's a few bikes faster but I could care less.  The Blackbird is a fantastic ride, absolutely unbelievable.  And smooth too, the engine revs out like glass.  One of the main reasons I dropped the GS, too much vibration.

Props to GeeP, yes it's a NT650 swingarm.

Now who can guess the front end?

What front fender is that? RGV250 as well?

It's all GSX-R 750 front end.  I forget the year but I think 92, possibly 91.  Same front fender too.  Had to use a trailtech speedometer on it cause the gauges wouldn't mount up.

If you're thinking about doing something like this... don't.  Unless you never plan on moving up in bikes.  All the costs associated with the build aren't worth anything near what you will sell it for.  However, if you're totally happy with the bike and never plan on buying another bike then these mods are for you.

Too late!  :icon_mrgreen:

I actually bought a katana f/e for $100 a couple weeks ago, so I don't have too much in to it.

I'm kind of surprised the new owner never showed up on this forum.  I guess some people don't get into the internet.  This site always had good information.  I like working on my own bikes and the manual doesn't always tell you what you need to know.  I like the people on here too for the most part.  I think you tend to get a better crowd of bikers online the older the bike is.  Seems like you have more experienced bikers on older bikes.  Or at least more mechanical people anyway.
Another shot for ya:

I always thought that bike had a cool look to it but the lean to the clip-ons killed my back.  In the long run though, I sold it for more than I had into it and more than what it was really worth.  Made enough cash to buy my next commuter, my 95 VFR750F:

Great, great bike.  I can't say enough about it.  I do miss it some days.
