Title: A prayer to the buddha...
Post by: crazyfish on April 24, 2008, 03:27:44 PM
Ok, so i've just installed Universal pod filters, rejetted to 137.5 mains and it was running lean. I got the idle to perfect but when I opened the throttle things wern't great....

a week on and ive tried bigger mains 145s and now its running rich (or so my plugs tell me) at idle and whatever i do to the pilot screws it seems to make no difference, putting the chocke on makes no difference (well partial choke does a bit but full choke and it just goes back down). Snapping the throttle open and the revs go up but come down very slowly. The wiki says this is a sypmtom of a main jet being too large...

Conclusion i think is that i need smaller mains but any suggestions on what size?

spec: GS500E 2000, stock exhaust with universal pods.

Any advise would be great, even if its to say my guesses are wrong.

Its also a sign of running lean , remember the Uni pods are more or less like running a K an N lunchbox , where as 137.5 would be more suited to the k and N Drop in , id think ur running lean ,

On my 1996 , i Ran a Nexxus and a Lunchbox , and i was running 150 Mains , cant remember the Pilot , and i was running a tad rich , but no flat spots

Edit: miss read that u had upped the mains , ,try 142.5? or mess with the Mixture screws , i had 2 adjust mine

Buddhists don't pray, they meditate.  Go sit in a dark room by yourself for a while and think about it.

Buddhists pray, just not to a Christian god, nor to Buddha. Prayer is oriented to asking for release from suffering (samsara) for all sentient beings, including oneself.

A Buddhist also recites the Refuge Vow (which is a prayer) 3 times before starting the day, and before going to bed at night.

Apparently Buddha doesn't answer prayers...
