I was shipped the wrong in-line fuel filter and didn't notice until AFTER I had cut the fuel line to install it! :x The website won't replace it because I opened it, and now I don't want to go back to that site.
To verify, which size do I need and where can I get one? Bike bandit only has up to 5/16 and knee draggers doesn't have fuel filters.
go to your local bike dealer and buy a plastic inline filter for $1-$2 thats it. They look like this

Here's an idea:
Now that you've got the fuel line already cut, why doncha cut a little tiny piece out of it, say, a quarter of an inch long or less & take it with you to the dealership to match up to a filter? I'm sure the fuel line can afford to be a quarter inch shorter & anyway you're gonna cut at least that much out when you put in the filter anyway, right? If you have a piece with you at the dealership you'll be gauranteed to get the right size.
BTW, Jeff's right, it'll only be a buck or two, even at the dealership.
I looked at the plastic ones and at the high flow ones at my motorcycle shop, and they were the same size as the one that didn't fit. I guess I'll go to the suzuki dealer and see if they have one that will fit.
What doesnt fit about it? Is it too loose? If its too tight, then it fits fine... just need to stretch and thats actually better anyway. I got one from the dealer and it fit just fine :thumb:

I had the same problem, I think you wont find anyone that fits....(Maybe a car filter??) what I did was to buy a small line (exactly as the battery one) an cut a piece of .5 cm, used a little of super bonder and put it on one side of the loose side of the filter.
Then I put over this one the original fuel line and problem solved...
or you could head to your local hardware store and get some really small hose clamps and just slide the fuel line as far up on the filter as possible then clamp it off.
I buy them at walmart...My virago like to eat them...I however figured You can clean them by reversing it, blowing it out with air, then running gas through it in reverse for a few mins while shaking it. Then back on it goes...So I quite buying more...but walmart has them, they are a little big though makes no diff for the virago but the GS I dunno...second stop is autozone anyway, get removeable washable somehting for it.

I made several stops: Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Aprilia, Honda, and two bike shops that don't actually sell bikes (accessories and stuff). I was amazed how many were closed on a Monday!
The one I ended up with looks just like the plastic one a few posts up in this discussion. I'm happy to be out riding while the summer nights are getting nice and cool.
