This is all I have found on the story. The part of Ortega where it happened, is a long straight away that crosses over a bridge.

"In a second incident, a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident at 2:02 p.m. on Ortega Highway, east of the San Juan Creek bridge, officials said."
This part of Ortega is well before the twisties start.
May God Bless his/her Soul.
Thats unfortunate to say the least. My thoughts to rider's family and friends. This is probably a too-frequent occurence on Ortega, as it also is on Angeles Crest Hwy (one fatality almost every weekend).
It's always heartbreaking when someone goes on the iron horse.
My condolences to the family.
In a related event, a biker on Hawthorne Blvd. here in Torrance right next to were I worked yesterday didn't make it when an SUV pulled out into traffic with an oncoming biker headed his way. (don't know how fast he/she was going, but hear it going by) Sad thing is the driver of the SUV pulled back into the parking lot he was just leaving from and bolted on foot Cops blocked several sq. block trying to find him. I think the cops did get him.
Thoughts and prayers to the families. An unfourtunate reminder that we as motorcyclists can't let our guard down for a sec.
Be careful out there.

Sad.
I am going to give my name and password to my wife, in case something happens to me, she can post about it.

One of the guys from Anandtech OffTopic actually saw that happen.. he posted about it.
Cagers should look out for us 2 wheeliers... and we should be more careful with cagers around us.
Here's what I've found out about the Ortega biker.
Ontario man ID'd as biker in fatal crash on Saturday
The Orange County Register
An Ontario man was identified as the motorcyclist killed in a traffic accident Saturday on Ortega Highway, east of the San Juan Creek bridge.
Phuong Thanh Nguyen, 29, died at the scene, said Orange County deputy coroner Collin Ellingburgh.
Nguyen was going at least 60 mph in a 45-mph zone, according to a CHP news release.
Heading east on the two-lane Ortega Highway, Nguyen lost control of his motorcycle when the road veered to the right, causing him to slide into oncoming traffic.
THIS IS JUST AT THE BEGINING OF THE TWISTIES.

i wonder what the heck was he doing.. when we went riding I was doing 55-60 mph with pablo on the back.. not even an issue..
new riders .. they got to be careful.
Most important is to stay focus on the road. If we let our mind wander off for even a split second, the moment we look back to the road and there is something unexpected happenin..WHAM!!! juz my 2 cents.

Eek! I hope that day never comes...although every now and then, I wonder what has happened to some of those who registered with GStwin.com but never post anymore... :(
