I put my GS on craigslist for sh%ts and giggles, and found people begging for me to sell it for $3000. I decided to upgrade to a larger bike and found this one. I went and saw it tonight and it looked and sounded nice as well as very comfortable!! Steering was a LOT harder of course b/c of the weight of it. I'm kind of upset about letting this bike go :dunno_white:. Anyone have any input or words of wisdom?
Here is another picture from my phone:

You must have missed my other thread mach:

Ahh the infamous Can-O-Tuna
From what I've heard on katriders, that D&D exhaust is super loud.
Have you heard it run? How was it? :)
I've got a friend with a pretty similar bike with the D&D, it's pretty loud. Personally Katana's look like shaZam! to me :dunno_white:
It was kind of loud, but sounded nice and throaty. That years paint job is nice. I originally didn't car for the katana either until I saw this one.
Nothing like the old gs, that's for sure!
Ya know, stebel makes maritime horns................

Mister stebel sales rep here! I finally made it over to their website to see what all this hoopla was about. They have some sound samples of their products. Now I know it's nothing like hearing it in person, but when I cranked up my nice computer stereo system it sounded pretty damn loud! :o
I would be willing to bet your computers speakers don't come anywhere near the 140 peak Db's the Nautilus units claim.
I probably wouldn't take that bet. However I'm thinking of investing in one of those units, it'd be a nice wake up call for some inattentive mini van drivers.
absolute, I welcomed you to katriders in your introduction thread.
I think I'm gonna get a Nautilus for my bike.
I had the pleasure of riding my boys' Kat and I was pretty impressed. Needless to say most used and abused pre 98 Kats can be had for pretty much nothing...minus second gear of course
After today I would like a nautilus too if it ain't to expensive! Any links to them! Idiot in a mini-van yapping on the cell phone, screaming at the kids, and fiddling with the GPS. I hate GPS I think they should be outlawed way too much of a distraction IMHO.
I tried the Katana the seat didn't feel comfortable at all! I even sat on another one a month and a half ago figuring it was because I wasn't used to motorcycle still felt like my arse would be killing me in less than an hour. Maybe it is different for the guys anatomically speaking.

I'd check ebay, there were a couple with BIN for $35. Not bad, if it might save your life one day.
You could probably mount a couple up under the fairings on that kat.
Yeah, ebay is the best bet for Nautilus horns. Just imagine 10-20,000 mini-van drivers from out of town on an island less than 10 miles long. That's what I'm dealing with right now..............when summer hits, it's on :icon_confused:
skip the KATANA and get the GSXR

meh, ill use my police horn :icon_twisted:
Nice looking Kat. I almost bought one instead of the SV.
I don't quite understand the Katana hate, but whatever. It's not meant to be an RR bike. It actually feels lighter than an SV too. :dunno_white:
It looks nice.. but not as nice as an SV or GXR.. but it's all about what you like, man.
i really like that color of the kat and the d n d slip on is a bonus...good luck with your decision
Thanks Frankie.
Well, I sold the bike last night. Just waiting for my insurance quote on the Kat (crossing my fingers). Four speeding tickets in three years sucks!!!!!!!
I was gonna say get an SV650. Lighter, and quick too. I'd swap for that before a Katana, but that's just me. If I was gonna pop the bucks for a Gixxer, I'd step up to a Duc instead. 8)
Me when nd if my budget ever straightens out, im building teh john deere bike :icon_twisted:
