even after I've been riding for 10 minutes it will sputter at idle and die.
runs fine with the choke on.
also sometimes when i brake hard the bike stalls as i come to a stop.
the bike is due for a valve check, could it be that my valves are out of spec?
check your clutch adjustment as far as stalling under hard braking.
Try what ImportBabe suggested.Check and adjust the vaves first, then clean, set the floats, and balance the carbs.
i always brake with the clutch pulled in. not sure how that affects it.
just watched the valve adjustment video and ordered tools/shims. :)
you could always run with your choke open slightly until it warms up more...or just let your bike warm up more. the gs does not like cold weather
i had the same problam twice.
plz chek the carb connection to the engine, maby the manifuled is dry and air is entring coasing poor mixtur.
if it's not that maby the rubber capps that's on the carb's' one of them could be missing.

I had this problem once before, both intake boots to the engine that hold the carbs ripped in half. But my bike wouldn't even start.
clean the carbs?
