I took my carb out so I could send it to bob, but then he mention that b/c I have a 06 he wouldn't be able to do it and we where going to try something else, so I put the carb back in and i'm not sure what I did but now the bike won't start, it even gave a very loud back fire. Here's 2 pictures I hope you guys can see it. I just placed it back with the screw. Maybe I didn't screw it on tight enough I don't know but I would really like some help on where did I go wrong.

That would be the ignition rotor and it only goes on one way. There should be a pin on the shaft that a grove inside the rotor slides over.I have no pics.My 2 GS's are 89 and 90 models.
There is a 3mm dowel pin in the crank shaft that the slot in the rotor indexes to. Sounds like either the dowel pin came out amd is missing or the rotor is sitting on top of it.
Dang.. must be getting slow in my old age.
