I have a 14 tooth front sprocket, and plan on going up to a 42 in the rear. so that's 2 down up front, and 3 up in the rear, will the stock chain work, or will I need a longer chain?
I plan on buying a new chain, and my rear sprocket wont be in for a week, so I want to know so I can install it all at once. thanks
and would a chain without a master link be stronger than a chain with one. I know one with a master link will be easier to put on, but are they weaker?
16/39T and 110 link center distance is 25.679"
14/42T and 110 link center distance is 25.473"
The 14/42 with 110 links center distance would be only about .2" shorter than standard setup. There is quite a bit of slot ahead of the axle with the std 16/39/110 so I think it would work.
According to DID their zj rivet connecting link is as strong as the other chain links, the press fit and clip type is 80% as strong. I use the press fit and clip type. You can get a rivet type if your concerned and have a rivet tool.
